Civilization Request Thread

Alright, I'm still largely just spit-balling on this one, but hear me out:

Leader: Stanford Pines

UA: Cheapskate - Tile Improvement Maintenance costs 1 less :c5gold: Gold.

UB: Mystery Shack - Replaces Museum, has one more slot for a :greatwork: Great Work of Art than the building it replaces.

UU: Con Artist - Replaces Great Artist, :greatwork: Great Works created by this unit produce less :c5culture: Culture, but more :tourism: Tourism. (Also, an aesthetic change, if possible: great works created by this unit are based on famous hoaxes, like the Fiji Mermaid)

Yeeeaaahh, like I said, still spit-balling. Maybe increase the amount of gold it discounts? I also have another idea: 'No Refunds' - Deals put in place with a Civilization that gets wiped out don't end, but are transferred to the Civilization that conquered them. Or if that isn't possible/is too overpowered, something involving trade agreements with them being harder to get out of.

Gold from Great Works and increased Tourism for Open Borders?

That...would be perfect, actually. Thanks! It'll be called: 'Tourist Trap.' Not sure about exact percentages of tourism increase or gold revenue, though. Any suggestions?

EDIT: Since there'd be a Great Artist replacement if this got made, could someone try and recreate the background in this bubble for me to put a different image in front of?

It'd be useful for future mods by the community overall as well.

Also, it has everything do do with Bismarck: the unification of Germany, or in this case of common cultures. It's just weird because it has nothing to do with tourism, but that's how you become influential in the game; which is an odd way to become influential in the first place
Unification of Germany wasn't actually done through conquest. Prussia took over quite some territory (Holstein, Schleswig, Hannover, etc.) but they didn't actually conquer all of Germany.
Edit: And culture and tourism are cultural imperialism of a sort - if you win a culture victory, you end up with a world culture that is, in essence, the one created within your civ.

The fact that Germany isn't like that tells me it's not a good idea.

@David Xanatos: When I get home I can probably whip out something with GIMP, as well as get the code started. The UA should be a Dummy Policy+something based on the code for ryanjames' The Olmecs. UB, again, easy (maybe adding a bigger Theming Bonus and no mantainance?) as well, UU seems relatively complicated with the less Culture thing, maybe just more Tourism or something like gaining a bunch of Gold upon being born. Really, this seems interesting.

Gravity falls! I'm flying!
Maybe:
Building maintenance cost is reduced by 1(per each building). Great works yield :c5gold: gold equal to their other yiels.

Ooh, no maintenance on the Mystery Shack, definitely. Place is constantly on the verge of falling apart altogether due to cheap construction in the show, so there being no cost for maintenance makes an odd sort of sense. As for the UU, if it really can't be done, I suppose I could think of something else, but the idea is that cheap, obviously fake tourist attractions would draw in a lot of money and tourists, but aren't exactly culturally enriching.

I think go!d from great works would make sense. And not to hard to code, right?

I think it make sense, but I have my doubts it's codable.

Which part? The Gold for Great Works, or the Less culture more tourism? If less culture isn't managable maybe just go for slightly more tourism?

Less Culture, more Tourism. Gold from Great Works is very possible thanks to it being very simple - basically inserting a fake, modified version of Creative Expression into that Civ.

Ah, good. I'll start working on a thread for this, and potential future collaborative projects I undertake, so I don't clog things up here once I get the ball on one rolling anymore.

EDIT: New thread is here

Switzerland.

2000th post get! =]

Also, can anyone point me in the direction of decent Stargate: SG-1 mods? I remember there being a modded civ for the SGC, but I can't for the life of me remember who did it. =]
