Civilization Request Thread

Because he did two times... Might as well do it third time. His modjesty(like may english) is very unexpected person.

Very unlikely, Natan.

Personally, JFD should write in bold letters in the first page (and with a large font) "I do not accept requests."

But that's just me.

This won't stop kerrigan, though. Trust me, I'm his modjesty's self appointed security consultant.

(oops? I'm not sure if the autocorrect corrected me in the right way...)

Not just you ;)
If it were up to me - and unfortunately it isn't - His Modjesty would add the following to the top of every page with civ download links on it, plus his signature:
Spoiler :
I DO NOT ACCEPT REQUESTS
TAKE YOUR REQUESTS ELSEWHERE
STOP WASTING BOTH YOUR TIME AND MINE
GO AWAY
Plus add a UI panel to each civ that shows up whenever you load up a game reminding you that he doesn't take requests. Heck, we might as well add it to LeeS' new modder protocol thread, along with instructing newcomers that whoward is the illusive god of modding. :p For some reason people think that whenever a modder's preconceived plans line up with the mod of their dreams, it means the modder accepted their requests.

Which Mesopotamian civ was it that ProjectCiv made before it disappeared? Was that also Sumeria? Or maybe Akkad? I don't remember and ProjectCiv never appears on the index.

Sumeria? What?

Very unlikely, Natan.

I can see it now: People are going to keep bombarding JFD with requests over and over again until he finally snaps and says, "That's it! I've had it! I'm never modding ever again!!!" And then we'll all suffer :(

You have to be pretty weak to crack to peer pressure like that, I'm sorry but have some form of resliance and endurance, and I pretty much know that JFD has been doing this for a long time and he probably doesn't even flinch at the bombardment of requests that people send to him constantly.

Huh! Requests. I released Stalin, and Hitler, and Lenin, and the Christian Commonwealth, and I'm a known monarchist, and, and, and a plethora of other things which arouse a great variety of colourful opinions. You're most definitely right! No sheer amount of simple requests are going to bother me, if nothing else has :D

*weren't you

And kerrigan, before the mod(erator)s ban you, please post things in the proper thread. DON'T answer this post.

Oh dear. Careful what you wish for I suppose.

Back in the swing of things now... I hope. =]

Balochistan (Mir Abdullah Khan)
Start Bias: Desert
Capital: :c5capital: Quetta
UA: Khans Of Kalat
Engineer and Cultural Specialists generate +1 :c5food: Food. Melee Land Units generate a small amount of :c5food: Food for the nearest Balochi City upon Pillaging an enemy improvement.
UU: Silahdar (replaces Lancer)
Cheaper than the Lancer it replaces, the Silladar is also weaker and slightly slower, at 2 base :c5moves: Movement rather than 4 and with 22 :c5strength: Combat Strength rather than 25. However, the unit generates :c5culture: Culture equal to half its own Combat Strength and gains a +33% :c5strength: Combat Bonus upon Pillaging an enemy tile, and it can Pillage without incurring any movement cost. Also starts with Shock I and +1 :c5moves: Movement, both of which carry over upon upgrading to Landship.
UI: Gabarband (All new!)
Unlocked at Masonry. May only be built on a flat Desert, Tundra, or Plains tile. Does not grant any immediate yields to the Tile upon which it is built, though it does generate +1 Food after researching Architecture and +1 Culture after researching Archaeology. However, adjacent Farms on flat land generate +1 Food. May not be built adjacent to another Gabarband.

Okay, I know the UU's a bit of a fudge, but there's very little about Balochi military history that isn't solely concerned with the present nationalist conflict. Hopefully this is at least a little bit interesting. =]

Design is nice, but it will only be powerful under very specific circumstances... Especially if playing with JFD's ExCE.
(Lancer replacement is nice, and unique, as always)

Great synergy as always. I especially like the UI. The UU though, well it's a bit cluttered. I don't quite understand the description which reads "... slightly slower, at 2 base Movement..." and then later "Also starts with [...] +1 Movement...".

I don't know if it matters much, but without going down the path of a custom DLL, I think a lot of the stuff with pillaging tiles could prove, if not impossible, then at least very difficult (and tiresome) to code.

Danmasch, the UU starts with effectively 3 mov, but Landships, for example, will have 5 move rather than 4.

Weren't the Balochi famous for working as mercenaries in Arabian Africa?

I would have worked off that for the UU.

Yeah this Movement thing seems unnecessarily complicated, other than that Its pretty good, I just usually hate playing on Desert 75% of the time and that will probably never change.
