Civilization Request Thread

Okay thanks! Still no page about Temur.

Oh you and DJS? Is he up for hire if the time arises? Also nice artwork! I know who the leader is and what the tree is, but what's the giant rhino?

DJS takes Improvement graphic conversion requests. To answer your second question, the giant rhino is the Siege Rhino, a card that will live on in infamy alongside others such as Thragtusk and Stoneforge Mystic for completely breaking the Standard metagame for the last year or so.

Thanks! How do you find these? Also I believe I've found the bearpunchers founding inspiration. http://media.wizards.com/images/magic/tcg/products/ktk/8arg43u984398yf/en_h7iivs9ut9.png

Why would you do that to a bear?!

Okay good, but only UI graphics? A so it's a Siege Rhino, and it's one of those OP/infamous things you find within certain games you're playing? Like the BBB from Europa.

Speaking of Abzan, I need to formulate a design for them as well. This is what I had like a few months ago:
Anafenza - Abzan (Salt Road Patrol)
Gain Food and City Strength from outgoing Trade Routes. Cities on or adjacent to desert produce units 15% faster.

UU: Siege Rhino

Unlike the Knight, which it replaces, the Siege Rhino is much slower, more expensive, and does not require Horses. All friendly units heal 10 HP when beginning a turn adjacent to a Siege Rhino, and all enemy units lose 10 HP.

UI: Kin Tree

Unlocked at Philosophy, and provides +1 Faith and Culture. +2 Food when built on Desert tiles, and an additional +1 Food and Culture upon the discovery of Fertilizer.

Had another crack at a codeable Jeskai design.

Narset - Jeskai (Annals of the Sage Eye)
Gain Golden Age points from spending Faith or discovering technologies. During a Golden Age, 50% of Faith is contributed to Science.

UU: Swiftspear
Unlike the Lancer, which it replaces, the Swiftspear is available at Printing Press and does not require Horses. However, it retains none of the Lancer's promotions, acting more like an upgraded Pikeman than a mounted unit. The Swiftspear also gets Golden Age points from defeating other units.

UI: Mystic Monastery
Unlocked at Theology, the Mystic Monastery provides +1 Food and Faith and 50% Defense. Jeskai units stationed on a Mystic Monastery gain experience over time. +1 Science when built on a source of fresh water.

I feel some aspects of the design represent Prowess to an extent, and since it's become an evergreen ability it's not a huge deal.
also there isn't any Bolster or Outlast in Abzan because shut up

Ooooo I like both of these designs, especially Azban! Two things though, one there's nothing in the spoiler. Two, what's that about Bolster and Outlasts (don't you mean Outcasts?) not being in Azban?

*Has flashbacks to playing Abzan in draft - Really good times :p*

I like the Abzan design, as I pretty much said a long time ago when it was first discussed. Having the SR as the UU is fitting, and it's ability as a micro-citadel that heals should help the Abzan in both attacking and Defending - with the latter being the most crucial part. Did you ever manage to find an appropriate model for the Kin Tree as a UU, for DJS to convert?

Is E&D being considered for the Khans, or is that something you wouldn't be interested in?

Yeah. Turns out the model for the Kiln Tree wasn't that much of a problem, the siege rhino however...

I personally find E&D incredibly frustrating to code. Like, more than any of the other Mod Support :p

So probably not, unless someone else wants to code and design them. Don't think I could come up with one for all of them, unless I feel like reading a lot of Uncharted Realms. Not gonna lie, I'd be cool with reading the Tasigur story again.

I found a riders mod for civ 4 which claims to have a rhino model, but I have no way of converting it or even checking if it's legit...
Also Kiln Trees sound really impractical :p

Odin - The Aesir (Halls of Valhalla)
Gain 20% production during war and earn +1 faith for every allied city state when you declare war.

UU: Einherji
There is an Einherji for every era, which has a small combat bonus compared to the most powerful unit of that era. When a non-Aesir land unit of that era dies in battle, a corresponding Einherji spawns in the capital. Einherjar can only be produced through combat.

UU: Valkyrie
Unlike the Knight, which it replaces, the Valkyrie can travel over mountains and oceans and gains +1 movement.

Please give feedback on this. I feel I'm pretty much finished with it, but if anyone has any ideas that they think need to be added, please tell me.

The Einherji still sounds OP. The fact that you're constantly getting free replacements for your army is quite powerful. I think it might be more balance if there was a chance of Einherji spawning, rather than a guarantee. Otherwise, the design looks fine.

How about this?

EDIT: And one other thing, is there a leader screen I can cannibalise an eye patch from?

I'd be surprised if the fantasy model guys don't have something resembling a Rakshasa from here on to when the civ is almost done.

And if all comes to worse... change the unit to a naga maybe?

It's cool to see that a Siege Rhino model might be possible - any ideas for the Rakshasa?

It's the internet, I'm assuming there's a cat person model :p
My backup plan in that regard is get some lion/tiger model and get someone to rig it up to a human unit's animations. If it looks horrifying, that's just playing into character.

As for the actual design, I was considering making it an Inquisitor which has a chance to convert enemy combat units it's adjacent to into workers (sibsigs!) upon their death.

Would anyone have ideas for a Lords of the Day civ from Aztec mythology? I'm thinking leader Tonatiuh.
Or a Japanese Pantheon civ lead by Amaterasu?

Tuatha De Danann under Agnoman: The Spear and the Cauldron: Combat bonus for all spear based units, increase happiness dependent on food.

UU: Nuada: Unlike the Great General it replaces, the Nuada gains and gives an additional combat bonus against cities, and can be expended to grant experience to nearby troops.

UB: Stone of Fal: Unlike the monument it replaces, the Stone of Fal gives a burst of culture when a great person is born.

Shek'zeer, Mantid Empire (WoW civilization)
UA: Paragons of the Klaxxi
Free random Great Person near the :c5capital: Capital when you advance to the next era. Academy, Manufactory, Customs House and Holy Site are common improvements for Great Engineers, Great Merchants, Great Scientists and Great Prophets*.

*Great Engineer can construct Academy, Manufactory, Customs House and Holy Site (one of them). Great Merchant can construct Academy, Manufactory, Customs House and Holy Site and etc.

UU: Imperial Vizier (replaces Great Musician)
Aside from the normal Great Musician abilities, the Imperial Vizier provides a 15% combat bonus to all player-owned land units within 2 tiles. The Imperial Vizier is NOT consumed when he provides this bonus.
UB: Amber Research Sanctum (replaces Garden)
Cost: 160 :c5production:
Maintenance: 2 :c5gold:
+25% :c5greatperson: Great People generation in this City. Grants a copy of the Amber luxury resource. Unlike the Garden the Amber Research Sanctum does not have to be built next to a River or Lake.
