Civilization Request Thread

Here are my ideas for Seljuq Dynasty, their leader is Alp Arslan, their UB is Madrasah, replaces university but costs a bit more to build, comes with %10 more faith and instead of jungle it gives +2 science per desert and their UA,their caravans can't be destroyed by barbarians or enemy players but it costs let's say %25 more to build and their unique tile improvement is iqta, you can only build it near water source(lake, river) and it covers 1 land unit's upkeep.Numbers can be changed for balance purposes of course.

There's already a well established Seljuq mod by DJS Henninger. It's in this thread: DJSHenniger's Mods.

Hi! I was wondering if someone could help make a very little mod to make Japan a bit more fun. It's only the UA I want modified, the UUs can remain the same.

New UA:

I wanted to reflect Japans history of both isolationism / modernization.

Would it be too difficult? And if nobody wants to bother to do this, could someone explain me how?

Thanks.
Awesome idea for a Japan UA.

Here's another civ idea!

Tzintzuntzani
Tariácuri
Filial Tribute. Conquered cities undergo only one turn of Resistance; if another civilization declares war on you and you have discovered Iron Working, each city you control produces one free Otomi Militia.
Tzintzuntzan
Colours - DimGray and Sienna
Unique Unit: Otomi Militia. Replaces Swordsman. Cost: 70. Combat: 13. Movement: 2. Requires no Iron; +1 movement inside your own territory.
Unique Building: Yacata. Replaces Temple. Cost: 100. Maintenance: 2. You may build an additional Yacata in each city during each era after the Classical.
Starting Bias: Lake
Region: Meso-America

Seems a litltle UP. Might I suggest an improvement of the Yacata or a buffing of the UA?

Kablamzo, here's another one (maybe one of these days I'll learn how to make a civ mod):

Pohnpei
Olosohpa
The Reef of Heaven. Settlers may found cities on Coast tiles; 10% culture refund when acquiring Tradition or Piety policies.
Nan Madol
Colours - Aqua and Coral
Unique Unit: Tribute Vessel. Replaces Cargo Ship. Cost: 75. Combat: N/A. Movement: 2. Any domestic trade routes to the capitol created by a Tribute Vessel provide +50% Food or Production.
Unique Building: Madol Powe. Replaces Market. Cost: 100. Also adds 5% to the city’s Food, Production, and Faith output.
Starting Bias: Island
Region: Pacifica

Now that'd be amusing, I'd say though that Nan Madol needs something really special. I wonder if the proposed UA would work at all...

I'd like to propose splitting up China into its respective Dynasties.

Ming
- Focus: Culture and Isolationism.
Colours: yellow with Burgundy accent.
UA: Inner Reflection - Internal trade routes provide culture. Finishing a social policy tree triggers WLTKD in all cities without an international trade route.
UB: Printing Press - replaces the zoo. Unlike the zoo, has a slot for a great work of writing. +2 gold.
UU: Shenjiying - Replaces musketman. +10% production time, but available at Machinery, instead of gunpowder.

Qing
- Focus: Wide empire while maintaining high population.
Colours: Blue with Yellow accent.
UA: Census and Bureaucracy. - Receive a production boost in your 3 largest cities every time a new citizen is born anywhere in the empire. +1 food in every city for each city in the empire with more than 10 citizens.
UB: Examination School - Replaces university. Instead of the +2 science on jungle tiles, receive an extra 1% boost in science in your 3 largest cities for every 5 citizens in this city, and an immediate empire wide science boost when a new citizen is born.
UU: Banner Cavalry - Replaces lancer. Unlike the lancer, is a ranged unit and forgoes the +33% bonus against mounted units for a +25% bonus against infantry and a lessened penalty against cities. (-15%). Increases local city growth when garrisoned.

PRC
- Focus:Conquest/Culture hybrid, like the Aztecs.
Colours:Red with yellow accent.
UA: The Great March: +1 movement points for infantry (ranged or melee) units for every 2 social policy trees or tier 3 tenets completed. Units below 50% health ignore terrain costs.
UB: Censorship Office. Replaces Police station, +2 culture, also decreases enemy influence slightly (effect stacks to a maximum of -50% influence.)
UU: Volunteer Army. May enter rival territory without an open borders treaty, and receives a +25% attack bonus on the first turn of war.

Song
- Focus:Science
Colours: Purple with Blue accent
UA: Scholars of the Orient - +3% science boost when researching a tech For every civ which hasn't yet discovered it. Discovering a tech first provides +3 happiness for 10 turns.
UB: Astrological Tower - replaces observatory, +33% science in this city. Does not require a nearby mountain. When a new tech is discovered, cities with an Astrological tower provide an extra 1 science for 3 turns.
UU: Chu-Ko-Nu - As Vanilla

Han

Colours: Brown with Yellow accent - Focus: Trade and Gold
UA: Great Silk Road - Connecting land trade routes to city states for the first time yields an instant relations boost. Trade routes yield +20% Gold or science if sent from a city with an incoming connection.
UU: Frontiersman - Replaces horseman. +25% combat bonus in neutral territory and receives +2 movement points and +15% combat bonus when finishing its turn on a caravan.
UB: Paper Maker - As vanilla.

Tang

Colours: Vanilla - Focus: Conquest
UA: Art of War - as Vanilla
UU: Fanzhen - replaces Knight. More expensive to produce, but increases the production of military units when stationed in a city, and generates great generals faster.
UU: Zhong Bubing - replaces longswordsman. starts with the cover I promotion. If trained in a city following a different religion to the capital, starts with the 'Hui Mercenary' promotion, giving +25% combat strength in foreign lands.

I dunno, it draws a lot of interest within Asia but outside of east-Asia they aren't particularly well known or influential, at least, not deemed as important as the major dynasties which held the mandate of Heaven.

"Sakoku / Rangaku"

Civilizations can only establish Trade Routes with Japan if Japan has an Open Borders Agreement with them. Foreign Trade Routes produce double :c5science: for Japan when trading with a more advanced Civ. Internal Trade Routes produce :c5culture: equal to the population of both cities connected.

I wanted to reflect Japans history of both isolationism / modernization.

Awesome idea for a Japan UA.

Thank you! Any idea how we could make it happen?

Imperial Japan!

If someone does the World War 1 Ottomans I thought of a possible UA.
UA: Goeben and Breslau- Recieve free units upon accepting a request to declare war. Neutral units entering your territory have a chance to become the player's units
The UA idea is from the German warships Goeben and Breslau which sailed into Ottoman waters and were given to the Ottomans which influenced the Ottoman decision to ally with Germany.

So I got an idea for a Warring States period China civ, maybe it'll fit in that potential China split people have been mentioning?

Qi
Huan
The Methods of the Sima. The capital and academies in Qi territory generate one random GPP each turn; Tradition and Honor policies are 33% cheaper.
Linzi
Colours - Yellow and Bronze
Unique Unit: Qi Swordsman. Replaces Swordsman. Cost: 75. Combat: 14. Movement: 2. Any Qi cities producing military units recieve 5 production on any turn a Qi Swordsman is attacked.
Unique Building: Shao Music School. Replaces Musician’s Guild. In addition to the usual Musician’s Guild, has an extra slot for a Musician and produces +3 culture.
Starting Bias: Grasslands
Region: China

So I might research some more Chinese civs from the Warring States and 5 Dynasties 10 Kingdoms periods.

As threatened, here's another Warring States period China civ:

Ba
Lin Jun
The White Tiger Spirit. Gain Faith equal to 1/10th the damage done to enemy units in your territory or by Ba Mercenaries; Ba works of Great Music provide +5% production of military units and buildings when in your possession.
Yicheng
Colours - Light Blue and White
Unique Unit: Ba Mercenary. Replaces Swordsman. Cost: 75. Combat: 14. Movement: 2. Requires no iron; During the Ancient or Classical eras, whenever a civ with which you have a Declaration of Friendship has war declared on them, they receive a free Ba Mercenary for each of their cities - when they are no longer at war or if you declare war on them, the Ba Mercenaries become your units and you receive Gold scaling to the number of promotions they’ve received.
Unique Building: Hunter’s Lodge. Replaces Granary. In addition to the Granary’s usual effects, adds +1 Food to any flatland non-snow tile without a farm.
Starting Bias: Grassland
Region: China
