October 17, 2007 - It's natural to be a bit anxious when a classic PC franchise gets changed to fit the console world. Whether it's from the controls not translating well or the developers straying too far from what makes the title a success, it's all too easy for a PC game to fall flat on its face while making the transition. After playing Civilization Revolution for nearly two hours this morning, we can say that Firaxis is on the right track. Yes, Revolution is a much more streamlined version of Civilization than the third or fourth games in the franchise. But at its core, the game is the same and it's still a lot of fun.

The gameplay isn't exactly the same, but the Civilization feel is there in full force. It's been a long time coming, but it looks like console players are set to get a Civ game that lives up to its name all their own.
