Civilization survey in my email

I didn't get a survey so in case any 2K/Firaxis employee happens to see this thread here are my answers.

Spoiler Q&As :

1. Which of the following Sid Meier’s Civilization games have you played? (Check all that apply.)
Civ III, Civ V, Civ VI, Civ Beyond Earth.

2. Of the Civilization games you’ve played, which is your favorite?

Civ VI

3. How likely is it that you would recommend Civilization VI to a friend or colleague?
7

4. Please select up to 3 elements of Civilization VI that you ENJOY MOST:
Great People
Exploration & Discovery
Founding and Developing Cities/Districts

5. Are there any aspects of Civilization VI that you enjoy not included on the list above?
Developing Wonders, since I could only select 3 above.

6. Please select up to 3 elements of Civilization VI that you ENJOY LEAST:
Gathering/Harvesting Resources

7. Are there any aspects of Civilization VI that you do not enjoy not included on the list above?
How the AI difficulty is implemented. On Immortal/Diety the AI has a huge advantage in the early game especially in military units, but falls behind after a couple of eras. So if you can just survive long enough you are practically guaranteed a win. It would be better if the AI was a threat throughout the game.

8. How would you rate Civilization VI’s Art Style?
4

9. How would you rate Civilization VI’s Graphical Quality?
4

10. How would you rate Civilization VI’s Music/Sound Effects?
5

11. How would you rate Civilization VI’s Computer Artificial Intelligence (A.I.)?
2

12. Which aspects of the game’s A.I. do you believe needs improvement? (Select all that apply.)
Alliances
Diplomacy
Empire-Building
Trading
War

13. What specific issues do you have with the game’s A.I.?
The AI sometimes doesn't renew alliances even if you have almost all green modifiers with them.
Sometimes an AI with mostly green modifiers with you will try to rip you off in a trade deal while an AI with mostly red modifiers will give you a great deal.
The AI will trade all their gold and resources (no matter how much they have) on great works the turn they are created.
The AI builds cities in poor locations when moving the city 1-2 spots would improve it dramatically.
The AI rarely builds an air force or a navy.
The AI has no sense of whether its good or bad to attack or retreat based on terrain modifiers, position of enemy units, positions of friendly units.

**Do you feel the A.I. has been improved by any of the following?**
14. a. Patches/Bug Fixes/Game Updates

Yes - Combat with garrisoned units and joint wars.

15. b. Downloadable Content (DLC)
Not sure

16. c. Rise and Fall Expansion Pack
Not sure

17. How would you rate Civilization VI’s Game Customization Options?
4

18. Please rate the following features in Civilization VI:
1 (Lowest) 2 3 4 5 (Highest)

4 - Religion
4 - Espionage
5 - Great People
5 - Barbarians
5 - Great Works
2 - Combat
3 - Diplomacy
5 - City-States (Envoys & Suzerains)
5 - Housing
4 - Trade Routes
4 - Map Generation

19. Please rate the following features in Civilization VI:
1 (Lowest) 2 3 4 5 (Highest)

4 - Wonders
5 - Unit movement
4 - Map Variety
5 - Resources
3 - War
4 - Tech Tree
4 - Trading
4 - Civic Tree
5 - Founding & Placing Cities/Districts
5 - Government and Civics

20. Any additional information that you want to share with 2K and Firaxis about your Civilization VI experience?

Turn times can take a while especially on big maps with many civs, so improved performance would be good.
There should be an auto renew function for trade routes and spies
There should be an option to turn off the messages whenever you fulfill or don't fulfill an AI's agenda.
There should be a queue for city production.
The map pins should include icons for districts, improvements, wonders, etc.
A map builder feature would be nice.

Anyone who gets a survey, don't forget to tell them to fix the troops near borders diplomatic request.

The survey made me wonder if they are starting to focus on civ VII rather than another expansion right now. Many of the questions seemed to involve things that would be hard to change much in VI.

Looks like a good set of question about how to move forward

Pity i didn't get this email. I would have said the AI is completely broken, not fixable. But so was Civ 5 to a lesser extent, but it was still a good game, Civ 6 is poorly designed in all areas, it reeks of a lack of inspiration, too 'by the numbers'... Learning from Civ 5s mistakes, game systems should have been designed with poor AI in mind so they can better play the game, instead it was ignored and just given wanton bonuses. The AI struggles with a game much harder for it to play, and its not fun as a player to have no threat to the survival of your civ. All in all i don't even like Civ 6 aesthetically, it doesn't do anything right over civ 4(the best) or Civ 5. I'd prefer Firaxis just move onto Civ 7 and have another go of it.

Same. I wish I would have received it. Did this survey go directly to the OP's personal email? Or was it something within the 2k forums? I haven't been on the 2k forums in sooo long...

1.) Civ III - Civ VI. Also played Civ IV: Colonization, Beyond Earth, and the demo for Civ: Rev on the PS2 or PS3.

2.) Tough to chose between Civ IV and Civ V. I'd probably have to go with V because (even though I very much enjoyed it) I didn't have a very good understanding of Civ IV and mostly just played it as a sandbox empire-builder.

3.) 7. Though this depends on several factors. Civ VI lacks the polish of Civ V: BNW, so I would probably recommend Civ V: BNW. That is, unless I know that the person would like to play more as a builder, in which case Civ VI's districts may give it an edge over V as a recommendation.

4.) cities / districts,
wonders,
exploration / discovery.

5.) unique civ abilities that change-up the gameplay. I also really like the concept behind the eureka / inspiration system, but I feel like it could be improved considerably.

6.) victory conditions:
http://www.megabearsfan.net/post/2016/07/05/Brainstorming-victories-in-Civilization.aspx
diplomacy / alliances (though the alliances added in R&F are a step in the right direction),
great people.

7.) the way that difficulty levels are handled:
http://www.megabearsfan.net/post/2017/06/03/Frustrations-with-Civ-difficulty-levels.aspx
Also, the UI is very clumsy. And where's a production queue?!

8.) 4.5 / 5 - I like how much of the game state is conveyed by the art. My only real complaint is that the leader screens are very bleh, mostly because of the fact that the backgrounds are just painted backdrops rather than environments that give the leaders a sense of the leaders being in the world.

9.) 4.5 / 5

10.) 4.5 / 5

11.) 2 / 5

12.) War,
empire-building,
diplomacy,
TEXTBOX: protecting civilian units.

13.) Needs to be more competent with units, not throwing them into meat grinders. I also wish it would plan out its city development a bit longer term, instead of just building the "best" thing available now.

14.) Yes, I guess...

15.) N/A (aren't there patches that go along with each DLC?)

16. c.) N/A (not actually sure if it's any better)

17.) 3 / 5. Would like much more customization of the game's difficulty and the challenges that the game provides:
