Hi ho. I forget exactly when but I remember I considered the idea of allocating old style traits to the Civilization V pantheon of leaders. I finally sat down and thought up a list of all the used traits and begun the process of defining them, since the civilization traits vary so much, I defined each old style trait on their fundamental abilities;

Spoiler :

This trait grants additional food benefits, either within cities and/or their improvements, tiles and/or their improvements, or from other sources.

(CHA)rismatic - :hatsoff:
This trait increases the emergence of promoted units, either by boosting experience in attacks or by reducing the target experience of a new promotion.

(CRE)ative - :band:
This trait increases culture, either within cities and/or their improvements, tiles and/or their improvements, or by other means. With PHI, this trait boost the emergence of Great Artists.

(EXP)ansive - :assimilate:

(FIN)ancial - :commerce::gold::c5gold:
This trait generates gold, either within cities and/or their improvements, tiles and/or their improvements, or from other sources. With PHI, this trait boost the emergence of Great Merchants.

(IMP)erialistic - :king::queen:
This trait generates any bonus from or by the capital. This trait also increases the yields from natural wonders.

(IND)ustrious - :hammer:

(ORG)anised - :c5citystate::high5::c5capital:
This trait manages city states and your allies, either from the yields they produce or the bonuses you receive in battle against them.

(PHI)losophical - :c5greatperson::c5moves::gp:
This trait accelerates the emergence of great people in the civilization, each great person is attached to another trait and is listed on said traits.

(PRO)tective - :spear:
This trait strengthens military defenses from attacks, either from boosting defense or extra promotions.

<RES>ourceful - :beer: NOTE: This trait has been designed to accommodate Catherine and Harun al-Rashid.
This trait stretches the available resources within the civilization to gain larger stockpiles of bonus, strategic and luxurious resources.

(SCI)entific - :badcomp:
This trait produces science, either within cities and/or their improvements, tiles and/or their improvements, or from other sources. With PHI, this trait boost the emergence of Great Scientists.

(SEA)faring - :splat:
This trait grants bonuses from the sea, either yield bonuses for the cities, or naval bonuses for the navy.

(SPI)ritual - :religion::c5happy::c5goldenage:
This trait focuses on maintaining happiness within the civilization, either by prviding extra happiness or by reducing unhappiness. This trait also provides bonuses during golden ages - either from the yields of tiles, bonuses to the military, or the length of time - and eliminates forms of anarchy.

If you look around, somebody else did almost precisely the same thing less than a month ago.

IMO, Civ5's system of unique abilities is far better than the previous trait system.

What happens if I choose Rationalism with a Spiritual Leader? Or Choose Order(Communism) with a Financial Leader? I wonder if the leaders in Civilization 5 can get a special bonus,by choosing some kind of social policies instead having traits like Civilization 4 . For example,England can get a better bonus for Commerce SP opener,which may encourage people to choose this SP if they're playing with them . Each civilization can have a extra bonus for choosing 3 SP branches(1 or more Branches can be Tradition/Liberty/Honor,another one can be Order/Autocracy/Freedom and if there's one left,it can be something else) . With England,this bonus can be on Tradition,Freedom and Commerce,where England got a extra and a unique bonus for choosing these Social Policies .

Do you mind posting a link to it, that might have been me with an earlier draft. If it is I'll seek to take down this thread and update the older thread.

Absolutely, these unique traits are excellent.
