[LP] Civilization VI: Leader Pass - Predict the leader abilities

I wonder if we're getting an asymetrical lua. Who would be the likeliest candidate for that?

Lincoln, maybe. He could get a loyalty malus and have to deal with cities going rogue.

Ramses II - May spend population to speed production of buildings, districts and wonders.

Sphinx grants food equal to culture output.

+1 Strength to all land units per Sphinx in your Empire.
---

Other idea: whenever a Wonder is under construction, any city within 6 tiles gains a City Project, allowing to contribute production to it.

One upping Van Bradley's joke: Lincoln gets bonus Culture but reduced Loyalty from Theater Squares. The capital city spawns Partisans on the Theater Square the turn after a war ends. :mischief: When we get Washington, he can get bonus amenities from Coffee but negative amenities from Tea. :p

On a more serious note, I was actually thinking he gets some kind of civ-wide benefit to industry for X turns after losing a city to loyalty pressure with a malus to loyalty to go along with it, but that seems extremely situational.

Elizabeth:

- Sea Dog unique unit. May capture enemy naval units including barbarian and city-state ships. (England gets longbowmen, as discussed in another thread).

- Enemy Naval units captured or destroyed within 6 tiles of an English coastal city grant gold and culture, double if within own territory.

- Military Engineers may spend a charge to complete 25%/33% of Harbors, Theatre Squares and Entertainment Complexes.

I don't think that would work because there's no mention of it requiring R&F or GS (is there?)
---

Edit: if I recall correctly, Kublai's DLC made no mention of R&F being required when NFP was announced (since you can still use him with China)

That means we could get abilities for GS owners. I'm thinking of the suggestions of a unique governor for Elizabeth from the other thread.

Ramesses II should have the ability to move the capital easily, and without any penalties (he moved the capital from Waset to Pi-Ramesses). He should also have the ability to build a propaganda project in cities which increases happiness (he covered the whole country in reliefs bragging about his abilities and conquests, and how great Egypt was). His unique building, built on a mountain tile, is Abu Simbel, a temple complex which gives some religion bonus (His greatest monument that he built). His unique unit has to be a ranged light chariot. The stables at Pi-Ramesses, his families stables, were the biggest ever recorded until industrial times. Those stables were what enabled the massive chariot army that Ramesses II had access to, to make the Middle East his little toy.

* Note: I haven't played Civ 6 in years, so apologies if the abilities don't fit the mechanics of Civ.

Ramesses II I feel like is going to have an ability that ties Wonders to Conquest. I could see either "Land units gain combat bonuses for 10 turns after a wonder is completed within your territory" or "Gain a free Ranged or Light Cavalry Unit of the most expensive variety that you can produce upon completing a wonder." but there are a lot of directions that could go in.

Nader Shah basically has to come with his own Unique Unit, which I expect will be based on the Jazāyerchi. But he'll need something else to differentiate him clearly from Suleiman. (The Jazāyerchi were elite Musketeers, but I've seen it suggested that they could be a Field Cannon replacement instead, which I think is fair.)

Steampunk Vicky could work with "Workshop of the World" to be able to spend stockpiled coal for a Science bonus. I kinda doubt that's where they'll go with that, but it's a thought.

I'd love to see Ramesses get Abu Simbel. Moving the capital would be infringing on Phoenicia's gimmick, though.

This seriously overestimates the brutality of Egyptian corvee. If anyone deserves this ability, it's Qin Shi Huang (as is hinted at obliquely by his sacrifice of Builders).

If any leader should spawn partisans it should be Theodora every time she builds a Hippodrome. Luckily, you'll also get a free Heavy Cavalry unit to deal with them.

Because Theodora is in the "Builders" pack, I'm pretty sure her ability will be tied to Holy Sites or Hippodromes or both, but I'd love something like: "The Noblest Shroud - Changing policy cards has the additional effect of recruiting partisans in Byzantium's capital. Gain faith, culture and diplomatic favor when defeating partisan units."

Yeah, after the Nika Riots she and her husband rebuilt Constantinople. I'd add in maybe faster production towards repairing pillaged districts as well.

Because the Byzantine unique ability leans so hard into the religious and domination victories, I will guess that Theodora gets a production bonus to religious wonders and Holy Site buildings.

This would instantly make her my favorite leader in the game. Repairing pillaged districts is such a chore.

This is such a cool, cool idea that it's gonna be tough for reality to compete with it, methinks.

I sometimes feel like I should avoid these threads exactly because it sets me up to find their actual abilities underwhelming.

Some modder will inevitably come up with better abilities, like Port Limes' Babylon Overhaul that actually turned Babylon into a cool civ.

So, anyone got any thoughts on where they'll go with Sundiata Keita? Mali will be keeping the production malus from it's CUA (along with the Gold, Faith and Food bonuses) but will no longer have Mansa Musa's trade route bonuses.
