Better solution: reinstall the game and go back to the 3.02 patch. The new patch is only needed if you player multiplayer and for me it was a mistake to update.

But I can't find my original Civ4 install disk.

I can also vouch for this bug.

You can find the 3.02 patch at www.gamespot.com. Just search for beyond the sword, go to the download section and select "patch".

Yes you must be registered to download things from Gamespot but it's free. The "basic" and free registration gives you access to almost everything except some beta tests or HD games movies.

As for pointing out Gamespot and not the firaxis web site, gamespot has patch for every games, sometimes before the games makers post them on their own site. I also know that it's sometimes a pain in the *** to find patch on a games company website and that sometimes they don't even give you a link if the game uses an auto update or in game update.
