CIVplomacy in the Ten Tribes

Well right now nobody is attacking Carnid, but if someone did, that someone would be out weighed by 3
That's what I find stupid, because: Nobody is commanding to research anything different, and if somebody did, Ceskari is already supporting Carnids action
So Magnive support is unnecessary, and Christos support is just the laziest thing I've ever seen

Lazy stupid unnecessary rule clarifications just for the sake of completeness:
  • Players are allowed to do lazy things
  • Players are allowed to do unnecessary things
  • Players are allowed to do stupid things
:dunno::mwaha:

That way, nobody has to play any guessing games on whether people will be Attacking or Counter-Commanding.

Why on earth would we want to eliminate the guessing games?
Spoiler Do you know what I find truly surprising? :

The single biggest thing I find surprising so far, is that so many people are announcing their actions in public instead of by PM. Perhaps its just early in the game so we'll see what happens... but knowledge is power. And giving everyone knowledge about your action is giving them power.

So how do you prevent evil Dr. X from attacking the leader of your 6 person group to do something?
Prevent him from knowing who the leader is.
Prevent him from even knowing there is a person group.
(And maybe even have someone defend the leader instead of supporting him)

Thus endeth the rant.

Yahzuk may not answer that question on time, so I am going to try to explain it again:

Example 1: Two Equal Commands

Player A commands to Build a Monument
Player B commands to Build a Scout
Player C supports Player B's action
Result: Build a Scout(2)>Build a Monument(1)
The Build a Scout command is executed and Player A's action for this Council is wasted

Example 2: Two Different Commands

Player A commands to Build a Scout
Player B commands to Build a Monument after the Scout is done (queuing)
Result: Both player's actions are executed and player B saved his action of the next Council because he already commanded what he wanted

The Commands you issue in a Council Session are executed if they have majority of support, or they are trashed if they are confronted with a more supported Command of the same type
They do not queue if you don't specifically issue a Command to queue them.

:agree:

Winning is impossible without some amount of collaboration and cooperation between players/tribes, yet only one player/tribe can win. This selfishness/selflessness paradox is what makes it fun.

:woohoo: This is it. This is the whole game in a nutshell so understand this. If this isn't your final destination please check your ticket and make sure you haven't boarded the wrong flight. :woohoo:

1. We , ob course, are cool :)
2. Why i need to join Infernos? Why you didnt joined them? I Wanted to play culture game, but , from 1st turn there will be very little sense.
3. you all 3 are teamed, and say from point of view of dominating tribe.
4. I still think that in order to keep building queue coalition of players must keep number one in votes.
5. I've made proposal to adjust the rule, which do makes much mroe sense, to make queuing = voting (commanding/supporting) in case your votes/commands take 2nd place. (ie 1 command 2 supports for scout, 1 command 1 support for monument = monument automatically queued after scout)
6. Why need me to force me to say/announce something what contradicts the point i trying to make, several times, and completely ignoring it? :) We are all just cool, I've made proposal in order to balance things.... I hope i can propose it and wait till all players and creator express their thoughts on the matter? :) and it does not affect your tribe negatively either, by the way....

So I've had a long day and some of my responses have been a little punchy tonight, and I'm sorry (at least a little) if I've stepped on some toes, but I'll put my serious hat back on and be nice now.

I could be reading you wrong, but when you say "makes more sense" I think you're trying to eliminate risk. I think that you're seeing that your action could conflict with someone who has a more supported action and your action will be lost. And therefore you're asking for a rule change that eliminates the risk of losing your action by putting it in the queue behind the more supported action. But I'm not going to change the rules in that way because I don't want to eliminate that risk. That reduces the need for players to plan and work together (and against each other) which is the point of the game. If I'm totally reading you wrong here then I'm sorry but I'm not getting your point.

But of encouragement, I will suggest to remember:
1) Even if the (Infernos) > (Any other Single Tribe), the (Not Infernos) >>> (Infernos)
2) It's certainly possible that a dominant tribe will be able to support their position well enough to ensure they fully control a city's production. But if they're doing that, they are almost certainly not controlling something else. They're not influencing research, or they're not influencing social policies, or they're not influencing unit orders. If the other tribe is too powerful for you to tackle head on, then you find a place to hit them where they're not looking.
3) Finally, at this stage in the game, any tribe can find some shared interest with any other tribe. Starting making long term alliances and short term deals.

Spoiler BTW :

or they're not influencing unit orders
BTW - don't underestimate the importance of this one!
It won't matter how many Swordsmen the Warhawks force the cities to build if they let the Peaceniks start ordering the catapults to the front lines. Not that anyone would do that. We are all one big happy empire after all. :nope:

Council Session extended to Tuesday night

So you guys gave me a lot to read, and I've given you a lot to read. Huzzah?
So I'm going to leave the session open one more day to let it all sink in and give folks a chance to change their actions if necessary. (And also because I'm too tired now to collect the results of the session anyway)

One more day. Make the most of it!

Ok, I command officially to build monument after scout , placing it into the queue

Just to go sure: Does this mean it is explicitly allowed and recommended for groups and alliances to secretly convene using private messages?
(If not - how are members of said 6 person group going to know whether to command or whom support?)

Yes fully recommended

..As he headed back, now relaxed because everything seemed to go well, he heard the voice of Slvynn again, so he came back to the two Elders.
Slvynn apparently differed on the rules that were set by all the members of the different Tribes. DevilHell tried to explain him, although he was still proclaiming his view of how the things were or were supposed to be. Hunab Kú! He even summoned St.Yahzuk to mediate the discussion.
After himself, St.Yahzuk, explained everything, Slvynn finally awoke, and said "Then I would like my order to be executed after GreyWithAnE's one is ended"
Yahzuk smiled quite indifferent, and not saying a word, he turned around and started to walk back slowly, as he always does.

DevilHell also smiled, and laughed, because he finally could go to rest. His before announced support wasn't needed anymore, but he didn't care, after all, everything seemed in order. Although, he was curious about Slvynn's decision, so he asked:
"Hey, why are you so obsessed with this 'Monument' of yours? What's the big deal about it?"
And he answered "Well, it's for the Gods! They have re-united us, our duty now is to thank them, for all this, this new Union, this peace around our One Tribe. For they will lead us to glory, as one empire, not as Fire or Water, nor as both, but as One. We have to spread this Culture around our Tribe, so the people know, and so will we prevail.. With Cultured people"

DevilHell felt amused and inspired by Slvynn's thoughts and perspective, and as if a lighting struck him right on the top of his head, he started making relations, summarizing what Slvynn said to him and calculating, putting his perspective as a draw on a canvas
In his head, different drawings and images could be picked out, really quickly though, as he fit them right on the surface of his eyes.

He closed his mouth and ran after Yahzuk, and almost tackling him, DevilHell turned him around and said: "Yahzuk! I have a great idea! I want Palenque to build it-" and forgetting why he was bothering St.Yahzuk, another thought came to his mind "Oh.. But I would like to know the other Elders opinion about my idea first.
Oh Hunab Kú, I have to run!" He realized. And so, he started running towards the Mayan Scientists
And before he could get to far, Yahzuk shouted: "Does this mean you are changing the previous command you set?!?" DevilHell stopped and committed a facepalm as he remembered why he came to Yahzuk
Then he loudly answered: "Yes! Gather the Elders! I want them to vote this project of mine!" and Yahzuk again intervened: "How is it called?!?"
DevilHell looked at the sky, and as if the Oxlahuntikús themselves told him the name, without a single thought on his head, he vocalized "Pyramid", loud enough for St.Yahzuks ears to understand.
DevilHell then closed his mouth again, and continued his way.

When he finally reached the Scientists, he told them and explained to them his new project
He, knowing the properties of the common stone said: "This cannot be possible without another material. We need something stable enough, but malleable enough for all the details and other in this project of mine"

The Scientists answered: "Well we already started this research of ours, that may solve the problem with this inconvenient of yours. We have called it Pottery"
DevilHell excited quickly replied: "Great! And when do you think you'll have that all figured out?"
"Well, we preview it to be ready in approximately 9 cycles" replied they.
"9 cycles how?" DevilHell asked
And with a little embarrassment the said "9 quite long cycles"
"However" DevilHell thought
"Good then" He said "Alert me as soon as you are done, so the city can start on the new Pyramids!!"

And so, DevilHell walked happily back to his Palapa, this time, to rest.

The Yamabushi returned from the beach to find a group of mortals arguing on whether it was good to builkd a giant pyramid to the gods or not so that the child sacrifices to the rain god would be closer to the heavens.

the Yamabushi, still pondering a new title suitable to this new people joined the discussion and proclaimed.

"We must build a pyramid for our gods, for without a glorious monument to their magnificence they shalt surely smite us down for our insolence and impiety. Such a pyramid furthermore would be a great sign of the power of Palenque, and invoke awe in the minds of those lesser peoples who come to bend the knee before our mighty nation.

Furthermore my brethren(this is my action) I would urge us to consult with the gods and study the heavens, and confirm our people in our Tradition, for only in staying true to our civilised traditions, can we avoid degrading ourselves and becoming like those barbarians who call the sacrifice of mortals an abomination, and are blind to the necessity of sacrifice in divine worship."

with that the Yamabushi adjusted his native-style loincloth and decided the city was a bit too dirty for his liking. He therefore returned to the beach to ponder the waves and harangue any foolish mortals who may get in the way of his sun.
