Great news! 2K Games has released an iPhone and iPod Touch version of Civilization Revolution.

The regular price of the full version is $9.99, but if you buy it within the first 48 hours, you only pay $4.99. In addition, there is a free lite version that allows you to play the entire tutorial and on the two lowest difficulty levels. The iPhone version doesn't include any multiplayer support.

You can find a preview of the game on TouchArcade.

If you have iPhone or iPod Touch, check it out and let us know how the game plays! :) I will have to get it tonight when I get home.

EDIT: The $4.99 price is only available for the first 48 hours. You can read the press release here.

Thanks to civilized.de for the news tip.

Not available in Europe(?) - at least not in the Norwegian or French stores. So European users have two possibilities if they want this game on the iPhone - jailbreak the phone and get the app without paying or find a way to get a US itunes store account. I like neither of the options.

I'll just say this; I'm tired of waiting for Civilization V for the PC... sigh....

Awesome!

Despite having the XBOX and DS version, I'm also going to get this one. Can't go wrong at that price!

Still I suspect that Firaxis is working on something meatier. They manage to keep awfully quiet though :D I wonder or they had anything to do with this port, would be nice to know.

You've got to be kidding me!!

Makes a great addon to my other games (SC3k, Tetris, Chess, Checkers, Darts, and Sol Free).

If you want Thunderfall, I can take some screenshots. And perhaps add the iPod/iPhone option into the CivRevolutions in the profile options ;).

Edit: I have some screenshots of my ingame play from the iPod Touch version, yet there is none to upload to. The Galleries for CivRev are eather for the Console (Xbox or PS3) or Nintendo DS :(.

Dumb question, but can anyone explain to me how to save your game? I am using the lite version, maybe you can only save in the full version?

Cheers,
ripple01

In the full version, the first icon at the right allows you to save. There are 10 save slots available.
