Classic Noob Question [V37]

I'm a very recent addition to the team that mostly just does minor debugging and fixes, but based on what the major team members appear to have been working on and discussing, I highly doubt any work on the Revolutions component has been or will be done in the near future.

We recently did a lot to repair revolutions actually. It should be ok to use for now on the current SVN. Haven't had any complaints there lately. I won't say it's any major work that's been done really, just making it functional again without wigging out at the beginning.

Unfortunately I would say it is not. I was having no problems with revolutions for me or the AI until the most recent changes, now the ai falls into revolution as soon as it gets 4 cities. Some don't appear to be able to get beyond 2 before splitting due to revolts. A lot of mergers also happen but then the revolts come back. I am playing on snail at noble level - I need to get to where I am testing stuff without being wiped out :D

so, the AI requires massive overhaul to process the needed micromanagement to prevent micro dominions disintegration?,
- which is unfeasible with current developer team?
- needs massive RAM? so game crashes simply too early?

Repairing revolutions is technically feasible and the team do have enough knowhow, it's the amount of work such an undertaking entails that is stopping us.
Revolutions have enormous amounts of code, spread all over the place, and was written by someone who is not on this team, so even just analyzing how the code works would take a lot of time and energy.

The Mod actually plays quite well without using Revolutions. :mischief:

But this latest news that the AI is imploding at 4 cities was not known until Dancing's post. New news to me.
