Unfortunately work and other RL things have become really time consuming over the last few days so haven't been able to play at all

I got lazy and got domination before diplo. i was going to do diplo (looks like you had it set up perfect and I've never done diplo above warlord). looking forward to posting a turnlog. May play a second set if other SGs are quiet this weekend.

Well I started out getting aggresive towards the Mongols. Then I really screwed up my strategy and didn't seem to be making any progress killing them off.
Within a couple of turns I then had the Arabs declare war on me.
Decided therefore to go far a two pronged attack - MOngols to the East
and Arabs to the West.
I've now decided I am just going to hold off the Mongols but try to
eliminate the Arabs.
Have already captrured 3 ARab towns

Ok, I have started. Basically declared war on Abu Bakr and captured all but 1-2 towns in where former Egypt was, and took Shiraz and Muscat. Temujin declares on Abu Bakr and Babylon will declare when Mongols are attacked (MPP.)
Next turn: destroy stacks of cavs that they have near capital and airbase. No more Arab cities in Egypt. Fustat is taken. It looks just like it did in Bede's T3 shots, but I didn't have a nicely organized set of units to the west, probably less Mongols to the east.
Planning to strike Basra-Damascus-Mecca. I threw everything I had at them and they threw everything they had back at me (there were a LOT of cavs in my territory at the beginning of turn 1.) Hopefully whatever I did was enough to stop then, but I'll see.

Since the Admiral got the Domination victory I thought I'd try for the Domination/Diplomatic exacta but finish on the same turn.
Continued to press the Arabs in the west while blockading the Mongols from entering the peninsula. Took two towns per turn with the loss of one infantryman and one tank. Abu made a counterstrike and took one town back, briefly. I thought I had closed the gates but had left an opening for his cavalry and the town was undefended.
In order to preserve my reputation I blockaded the last Arab town on the peninsula but withheld the assault. With the UN due in 1 I opened the blockade and allowed the Mongol to move what looked like every soldier he had into place. I hit it with bombers to soften it up, then he took it with cavalry.
Then I checked MapStat. I was going to be ~40 tiles short of Domination when the vote was held (I was slow in rushing libraries on the coasts and planting settlers in the interior).
Then Mongol declared war and razed Moscow with a single pikeman. That brought the Babylonians in against them (I had signed an MPP with Babylon in the beginning) and simply cemented the Diplomatic victory.
So... UN built, let the vote happen, and got kissed.

Never really let the Mongols participate in this war. Built maginot line near the forts in the former Cleo lands. Built another N of CI and the choke point, left an opening so the mongols could go south after crushing the arabs. Then closed the gap. Founded new cities in the gaps and rushed (sorry Bede) temples. Cultural expansion took over and i got a domination a few turns before I expected it. General (or is it Admiral) Stupidity assumed command. I'm not sure I retained a save. 12 turns. Not too bad. Then again, Bede will probably do it in 5 and crush my ego.
Thought about milking it, too lazy with all my other games. In the absense of any dispute and with the agreement of our leader, Team Clive hereby awards Bede the Hammer of Knowledge for pounding sense into neophytes (thank you Dictionary.com) Scout and Sesn are hereby invested as Knights Commanders of the Order of Ideas for patience in lurking.

Well I got a bit careless towards the end. I just enjoyed hammering the AI so much I didn't pay too much attention to details so I'm sure I probably took a load more turns than the rest of you.
A fun game and a lot learned - I will have to go back through the posts and make sure I remember it all !
Great to play with you all and let's hope we can do as good a job in Monarch training (2) with AK . I feel I have a reasonable chance of winning on Monarch on my own now so it will hopefully be time to moveup to Emperor soon !

At this stage of the game it seems like it's mostly the fun now. 182 1/2 hours??? Never played something that long, it's over 1 week's worth of Civ (I'm saying this all in a good way.) One other interesting thing in that screenshot is that the oil got exhausted but appeared at the same place on the same turn it was exhausted. I don't think I've seen that before.
I haven't finished yet but I learned a lot from this game. I need to re-read it soon. I've come from usually playing on Regent (occaisionally Monarch) to usually playing on Emperor (not winning much, but staying even with the AIs.)
