Informing the poll poster is sometimes next to impossible Dis. Waiting for a reply would just take longer. There is nothing wrong with closing polls. Once you put your ruffled feathers back in place, it's very easy to start a legitimate poll, using the knowledge you just gained from having your bad poll closed. I don't see what the big problem is.
