Cloud game opened to all

I joined. Going to be a stretch to think we'll ever finish a game on a map this large, though.

I was wondering why people did not joined my game. You gave me the answer, thank you !
Maybe I should create another one. What is the best 4 ? 6 players ?

Honestly, the smaller the better. I posted the other day several 1v1 games, but have still had no luck. It's possible people have given up looking for them, but you realize if you make a 6 player game and even 1 player decides they don't want to play anymore, the rest of the players will be stuck waiting until eternity for the player returning. The more players you add, the bigger the risk. As host, I think you can kick players, but I don't know what that will do within the game.

Understand that this will be a slow process. In a cloud game, you forced to exit after each turn while the game is saved and then go through your unique civ's loading screen after every turn. It's the kind of game that will be played intermittently from day to day. Therefore, I'd make numerous games available that you're willing to play. Don't worry about playing them one at a time. Make a 1v1 available for me to join with you or join one of mine. Make your 6 player game, too, just in case, though I think you'll never bring it off. Make others, and just hope enough players are willing to join. It's not like you'll have so many players playing simultaneously that you have time to play a certain game. You're going to be waiting around a lot.

Hi all. I've been playing Civ since the DOS version in 1992. Have never done Multiplayer and am looking to work in with a decent group willing to accept a newbie, of sorts. I play Gathering Storm on Deity level these days and generally get my arse handed back to me on a plate. But I enjoy the fun. Please reply, if you are planning any online games down the road. And ideally, give some ideas of the parameters you typically set. The one rule I quickly get is "start & quit isn't cool."

Can't believe we filled it. I played my founding turn last night. With 8 players, it will take a long time to complete if players aren't on the ball about noting when they're up. It would help a lot if those involved posted their Steam accounts so we could tell people when they're up. Mine is Genghis_Sean.

hi guys, created a game the other day. 6 players, play by turn, continents and islands, all DLC except latest. I'm not a pro, just looking for a long term fun game.

posted on the civ 6 discord also.
hoping we can get something going!

There should be a forum for organizing Play By Cloud games. I never tried it and wanted to find other players. Did you guys find any other sites to find people willing to play?

nope... game still open but no one joined :( i got a couple games going with friends of mine, but none with public. will check again maybe i had the wrong setting on, its supposed to be open so i guess the play by cloud option isn't popular? its too bad, i enjoy it.

Civ 4 had a play by email (PBEM) sub-forum dedicated to these types of games. I still get alerts from games that are still ongoing that I started :P Maybe the moderators could make this sort of subforum for civ 6.

Of course the huge challenge with these is that we only have a 10 minute window to start and launch a game. 10 minutes is better than 1 minute, but Firaxis really needs to figure out a better way for any long term multiplayer community to develop with civ 6.
