Listen up. You wanna know why the USC ND game was really that close?
USC Penalties. USC has to learn not to make mistakes. Like, 9 flags for 98 yards, especially on crucial ND scoring drives. Give ND some credit, but not the youalmost beat the champs.

Lets try to figure it out: Notre Dame beats Michigan. MSU beats Notre Dame in a close game. Michigan beats MSU in a close game. Penn State destroys Minnesota. Michigan beats Penn STate. Penn State beats Ohio State. Ohio State destroys Iowa. Michigan barely beats Iowa. Penn State beats Northwestern in a close game. Northwestern beats Wisconsin in a shootout. Wisconsin beats Minnesota. Wisconsin beats Michigan.

Michigan's at Northwestern on the 29th. They should do GameDay there.
The Big10's lookin good, but the real conference to watch is the SEC.

BTW the Michigan Michigan State game was not close statistic wise and the only reason MSU tied was because of that no-fumble.

I don't know why but SEC games always bore me more than ACC or Big 12 games.

Terrible homecoming game. Looks like Stanton's Heisman hopes are out of the window even though overall for the season he's been playing great (had the best QB rating prior to today). Too bad Heisman trophy goes to the best player on one of the best teams, not the best player in the nation.

With that said, Reggie Bush is definetly number one. I don't even know why Vince Young was ever on the list. He hasn't been anything spectacular from the start. Like I said, best player on the one of the best teams is that all that seems to matter to some people.

Bah, the heisman trophy is a popularity contest. Often times, they never choose the best player, but the popular players.
Here's an interesting statistic-
There was only 1 player on a losing team to ever win a Heisman, and that was the QB of a 2-9 (Notre Dame, I think) team back in the 40's.
The Heisman lost all meaning. Drew Stanton hasn't played anybody, then he couldn't run, got sacked, scrambled like a headless chicken when he lost to Michigan. Then lost to Ohio State, then got massacred (fumble taken to the house) against N'Western.
Back to the Heisman, who ran last year-
Bush from an undefeated USC, Leinert from an undefeated USC, White from an undefeated OU, Peterson from an undefeated OU, and Smith, the one nobody's ever heard of, from an undefeated Utah.
Best player in the country is Elvis Dumberville, 19 sacks this year. From Louisville, with 2 losses.

However are his stats legit?
Kentucky ( 1-5 )
Oregon St ( 4-3 )
S. Florida ( 3-3 )
Florida Atlantic ( 1-7 )
North Carolina ( 3-3 )
West Virginia ( 6-1 ) and they lost
Cincinnati ( 3-4 )

The same logic about others padding stats against losing teams applies here too I think.

too be fair, Smith made that Utah team what is was...undefeated. Leinart is the best college QB and the most clutch too, so I cant argue that much.

Usually I agree with that, but I thought the right person won last year.

Btw, Basanez rocks! Is he a legit NFL QB prospect?

Basanez can't win. He plays for a team who lost, he's not currently in the race, he's at stake of losing his next game or any of the following. He's not electrical or supernatural just like everybody thinks Bush or Young are.

The Northwestern RB is pretty good too. I think right now Bush is far ahead of the rest. I really don't think Leinart or Young should get the award. Brady Quinn's playing well and Drew Stanton had a good season, too bad the team isn't doing as well.
