College Football

I really don't know what the big deal with Notre Dame is, their biggest win has been over and okay Michigan team. Sure, they came close to beating USC, but so did Stanford last year and nobody cared about them. I think they're overrated for a two loss team and the media is just looking for a great story to jump onto.

Notre Dame isn't racist, but this did open my eyes. Notre Dame thus far has only played 3 teams that are anywhere near good, and lost to 2 of them. They're all about the cash and winning, and carrying some sort of immaginary tradition. I do not like Charlie Wise, something about him. And I especially don't like Notre Dame (even after my Mom graduated from there). But come on, racist?
Notre Dame has beaten a mediocre Michigan team
We outgained them in the 2nd half, got in the red-zone 4 times, held them to 17 points and we're NOT MEDIOCRE.

Don't fool yourself, you're mediocre. You may have potential but you don't live up to it. Just like Cal, unfortunately :(

The media is ALL OVER Notre Dame. Remember the ND USC game? ESPN went gaga over it, even though there were plenty of other interesting games. Notre Dame has maintained a 9 spot in the polls after losing to USC and beating a crappy, unbalanced BYU team AT FRIGGIN HOME.
Why was the USC game close? Pentalty yardage. USC had 9 flags for between 70 and 90 yards. Not that Notre Dame is bad, but they're not the ultra dynasty.

Isn't that what I just said?

Nah Michigan while certainly not the Michigan we've known for years is still way better than Cal. They've really improved over this season and probably could beat Notre Dame in a rematch. Nevertheless Notre Dame is way overrated and do not deserve a BCS bid (which at the moment looks quite possible).

I'm really hoping Va Tech manhandles the "U" so they get knocked out of the top 10.

Pitt--pre season Big East favorite
Purdue--pre season Big ten co favorite
Michigan--pre season #3
Tennessee--pre season # 4
Michigan St.--ranked

It's NOT ND's fault they all failed to live up to THEIR hype;)

Heres an interesting article on Charlie Weiss's 10 year extension with Notre Dame. I'm not the type of person to yell racism but this case is quite suspect...

Interesting, Ty goes 8-0 with Bob Davies players, he's great. Weiss go's 5-2 with Ty's players and suddenly their Ty's players--well hey, 8-0 were Bob's players. Also if these " Great players are Ty's, why could he NOT win with them last year? Plus ND recruiting is way up, "pro" style recruits that didn't visit ND are this year. The easist way to lose recruits is for them to " think "the coach will not be there for 4 years.

Good points. It seems that Ty won in spite of having Carlyle Holiday. I was wondering the same about the past two years. Again I'm not entirely sure about this. Was Weis a Notre Dame alumi?

Your missing my point. You can't give a team like, oh lets say the '72 dolphins for going 5-2 against a bunch of... '05 Packers. They might have chosen a tough schedule but they havn't played it. 9 is a ridiculous spot.

pawpaw preseason rankings mean nothing. Everybody knows that.

I'm not. Your saying they sux because their schedule sux's, I'm saying its not their fault these teams under performed. If they played these scedule last year or next year it would be -god look how hard that schedule is. Beyond their control.

You're right, its not their fault. Good for Notre Dame trying to schedule some percieved top teams. Still their best win was against Michigan who started off quite terribly. They do not deserve to be in the top 10, not ahead of Penn State or even Ohio State like they are in the AP poll.

I didn't say they sucked. I just don't think they're a top 10 team. They're good, but not best team in the country good.

Another reason for Weiss to win a title- ND just dropped their harder than hell schedule, new ones will be dumbed down

Let's not forget ND's 14th in the BCS, where it matters. We'll see how things turn out, but their schedule's pretty soft from here on in . . .

need to get to 12th, last 4 games they will be favored

I think it'll happen. They do have a loss to a currently unranked Michigan State team though, so maybe they shouldn't be top ten. On the other hand, LSU has a loss to an unranked Tennessee. On the first hand again, it's their only loss. On the other hand, Alabama's undefeated, and beat Tennessee, who beat LSU, who beat Auburn. And they beat Florida who beat Georgia. So clearly Alabama should just be given the SEC title by default at this point.
