OK, Spanish King, I could accept Constitutional Monarchy to England in exchange for Improved Hulls to me (via you perhaps).

As Steve said in another forum about this game, it is a playtest, and we had better start having some battles to test out the unit balances.

I propose (as Yop has disappeared anyway), that the Franco-Dutch alliance goes to war with Spain and England soon. I don't want to sneak-attack you, and your units are possibly widely dispersed at the moment, so I'll give plenty of warning: perhaps a war at the start of 1640?

What do you think?

Swiss and Savoyard troops defeated in the Alps (1 Culverin, 1 Arquebusier) by our cavalry.

The unrest in France continues, and the Cardinal strengthens his grip on power....

Steve, yeah, I am getting the same inability to found new cities, but with no pop-up. Maybe this is an MP error, so I am going to try again when I have destroyed a native city, and there is definitely room.

OK John bug #1. If this is a bug will it be relatively easy to fix?

No idea until I have tried.....If 255 cities are already in existence, but the pop-up doesn't happen, I'm not too worried. If however, the colonist is being stopped from founding ANY new cities, this is a critical bug.

I shall playtest this version in SP in a sec, to see what happens....

What about the trade units? I will like to sign a teatry that stop any country to destroy a carrack with a commodity or a pelt/furs units inside. What do you think?

BTW, John, I think I've worked out why I've not lost any single colony. The natives move in "French turn", so the computer defends Spain against the Natives, so they are less dangerous than in SP. Does that make senses?

If you have changed your attitude to France, you will get the Const. Monarchy tech next move.

I don't understand about the Carrack agreement. Do you mean even if we are at war, we leave each others' trade alone?

If so, I don't think so! That is one of the main reasons for going to war in this period, and hitting an enemy convoy can do more damage in this scenario than taking one of their minor convoys....

Thanks for the early warning. As this is a playtest, would you let Steve take over for you please? Steve and I can then have a lovely little war, that should be well balanced.

BTW, the natives thing, I believe will be a 'handicap' for France, who is the only one nation who fights them at their full force!!! And another thing: In my humble opinion, only one source of slaves could be insufficient for the English people in MP. What do you think?

Actually I have no problems joining the war (war is fun ) but if the English don't want me to I'll stay out as it'd feel a bit unfair to them to have a war with 3 vs 1...

Henrik, it would be France-Holland-Sweden vs England-Spain, so it wouldn't be that unfair, but still - I think it would be best if it started out as France-Holland vs Spain-England, anyway. You can help if I'm getting too badly hammered, perhaps...

The "weakened" natives against everyone but France in MP is a shame, but if so, I guess it is hard-coded into Civ anyway.

As for Slaves, in the MP version there are more, and more widely dispersed....
