Henrik to move - and I am getting quite interested on how combat in MP against people who know what they are doing is going to work out.....Roll on January 1640!

(Also, I have just remembered there is a Pikeman near Orthez who is technically in San Sabastian's radius. He was trying to board a ship, but ran out of movement points. He too, will be gone next turn (and I am already farming that square, anyway).

In germany the Swedish army under Torstensson has conducted a swift offensive during the summer months against the Polish city of Danzig.

The city fell and in an unusually quick act of determination, the poles signed a peace treaty with Sweden.

Losses where higher than would have been prefered as the city was taken by Assault.

Danzig is now in Swedish hands for all eternity

In other news a series of major reforms are being undertaken to reshape the Swedish governmental system...

I think that the Poles prefer the name of Gndask or something like that, dear Henrik (maybe Danzing is too German for them). If I were you, I'd correct it or probably Steve would declare war also on Sweden

Yep luck Ill need. Ill try and get this up this afternoon, USA time. I have been busier than a drunk in a London pub! (kids are back in school and Im at the end of the fiscal year where everyone needs to get there money spent yesterday!)

We would ask the Spanish to clear the approaches to Brest, as a large convoy is approaching next season, and will get through, past the Spanish ships - or over them!

A loan of 900 gold has been negotiated with the Dutch. The money has been earmarked for a future French privateering fleet...

BTW, Jhon, there are a number of people that wants to play a Colonies 4 PBEM in the Spanish Forum (El-Awernce, Shaka, Academia and me). Could we do so? Or better we wait until the official release? I will not give away the 41mp beta files without your authorization, you know

Yaro, Im NOT speaking for John but you guys might want to wait another week or so till we get on with John's war of agression. We may make some adjustments after that.

This is just a suggestion.

Are you guys going to do the scenario in Spanish or English in the threads?

Once more the New Sweden company's fur hunters have been agressively reppeled by the native population in the Delawere area.
Perhaps something needs to be done about these constant raids?

Alas it will have to wait, back home everything is a mess, the constitutional changes the country is undergoing is taking every ounce of my attention. As usual the four stands, most prominently the nobility, are doing everything they can to stop the process that has been set in motion.

I've ordered the advance in Germany to be halted, Torstensson is convinced the Austrians have run out of force to conduct any real offensive any time soon and thus we can afford to give our now quite exhausted armies a rest.
This is probably for the best anyway with the unrest at home and all...
The news of conflict brewing between our French-Dutch allies and England-Spain are most disturbing. Hopefully they will prove to be nothing but rumours, as it would mean the continental war would spread to the New World. There our forces aren't as strong and numerous as our armies in Germany and would be quite vulnerable to an English attack.
I have taken limited defencive measures allready but only time will tell if they're sufficient.

Yaro, Steve has a point (the Dutch Militia unit I reckon already is too strong). However, I have created a 4.11 to address some of these type of issues as I go, so if you want to take a chance the combats are not quite right yet, ask me and I will mail you these files and you can get started. If you can bear to wait for a month or so, you will probably get a better game in the end....
