I was playing a game the other day and i was at war with the aztecs. I had lonswordsmen. I selected a unit and wanted to attack an enemy unit that was 2 tiles away, 1 grassland in between. However, when i went to move my unit could only move 1 tile, onto the grassland, and its movement was over. Couldn;t attack till next turn. Then i went to move another unit and it would only let me move 1 tile as well. Could it always have been this way and i never noticed? I have over 250hrs into playin, i think i would have noticed before. I know you can only move 1 tile (hex) when it is adjacent to an enemy unit to prevent you from moving around them but that wasn't the case here. The tile i wanted to move through to attack was just the 1 tile that was in between us. And the other unit i tried to move didn;t have an enemy unit nearby, i was just moving them arcoss the territory.
Is combat movement suddenly restricted to 1 tile in enemy territory? Could i never have notice this before?
Totally confused
Any help/comment would be appreciated
