Coming soon to a theatre...''The FFH2 Movie''

Version 3 has "What of left of the empires of Erebus have formed..."
Am I the only one who thinks it sounds strange, or at least grammatically incorrect?

Yeah its supposed to be What IS left.

Here's v4. (low-res to fit on this thread) This should be the final version. (knock on wood...) Kael also has access to the high res version, so he is free to work it into the game, however he wants. The high-file is about 55MB in size.

I made my type adjustments and blending fixes and fixed the typo noted above by evanb (thanks for the catch...).

edit: just noticed that I made the text to read 'What was left...' instead of 'What is left...' Does that work too???

This file includes the musictrack too. (I converted the track to mono and got it to fit).

I have it checked into 0.22. Its really cool. I really like the way you did the titles on the leader screens.

If the scenarios can be limited to 2-3 pics, it would be manageable. It's still over 100 pics though...We probably can reuse certain pics too (and I can alter them to look different)

What would also be nice is to have some people you know and trust who can create artwork for a particular scenario. The style within that particular scenario video would be consisent. You also create an involvement level for the fanbase, and no-one ends up overwhelmed with the work. Like I said, if I have the artwork and the base template set up, the actual time to create the video is VERY minor for me.

If you look at the SMAC vids, they have a great diversity of visual style from video to video. Suprisingly enough, it works, and it works very well.

Art is all about diversity.

And here is a quickly-made ingame interlude movie. It's a little choppy to get the file to fit on the thread, but you will get the idea what I am driving at...

I'm thinking that these types of video clips can be scattered throughout the game. Their main purpose is to help the gamer learn more about the world you have created. Present the character traits of the leaders, great historical events, battles, unusual heroes, etc.

They can be used at certain turns, or when a player creates a certain number of Libraries or other specific building type you may want to use...Or when you create the first of a particular unit type. Ideally they would also be randomized so every game would be different.

These are easily made too. As long as I have the art and the text, making this type of video takes 5 minutes to do.

You have a lot of history built into the game. The civipedia presnts that info, but it is presented in a (edit added) graphically dry manner. That s not your fault - it is the limitation of the game format - that info is somewhat hidden to the player and the presentation is almost like a tech manual.

Put these types of images within the game and you create a lot more ingame atmosphere and you create within the player a greater desire to read up more on the history of the ffh universe.

It might be because I'm on my mum's oolld computer but I can't get grigori flavour.bik to run...
