Community Patch - How To Install

I have a (maybe) stupid question about the community patch; is this a mod that can be turned on and off through the mod menu? Or will this permanently alter parts of the game even if I play vanilla without any mods? The word "patch" somewhat implies the latter, but I don't want to completely change my game.

It is just a normal mod. If you install EUI, it goes in your DLC folder, but otherwise it is just a mod.

Hey, so I was having trouble with JFD's Rise to Power, and when I deleted it and downloaded it again for some weird reason CSD for CBP completely disappeared from the in-game mods list, but was in the MODS folder. I've tried redownloading the entire CPP, verifying the game cache, deleting the cache, log, and moduserdata folders but it still won't appear. I also have all the DLC and they are all checked. Should I try installing the latest beta instead, or is there any other way you know of.

Other than that it's been a really sick mod :)

With civ open and the kids menu up, add and remove CSD from your mods folder.
 
Excuse me Gazebo. But does this mod by any chance change the month/turn increments? You see, I made a mod which changes the game speed. It works fine in normal Civ where the time of the game matches you're current era. But with the Community Patch, it's 2000AD and I'm still in the Classical Era (with my mod)! The mod is awesome btw :). The one thing that would be cool would be a leaderscene for the barabarians.
 
I had already done that several times, but weirdly it worked when I did that while having DLC mods showing. Anyway thanks a ton for the help :D

It does not, no. Barbs have a leader screen in specific circumstances.

Could there be anything I could do to my mod with the Community Patch to keep the year relative to the current era? Here's my mod:

I just subscribed to the 'The United States (Teddy Roosevelt)' mod and it said I need this to run the mod. I use Steam for Linux which has had mods enabled for several years now. Will I be able to use this mod or do I have to wait for this patch to be ported to Linux first?

You can't use DLL mods on linux, sorry.

Yes I am. I was about to give more details so you wouldnt need to go over them like this, but you responded me very quickly, thank you for that.

I deleted the 3 folders on C:\Users\pc\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5 (cache, logs and moduserdata), altough it says i dont have to on the instalation setup: "Installer automatically detects and deletes cache files as well as older versions of this mod. No need to manually delete older files or to clear your cache!"

Installed on the right folder C:\Users\pc\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\MODS

Loaded the 2 mods (community patch and community balance patch) on the civ V mod menu screen. It checked the data and showed the 2 mod name.

Edit: Lol, figured it out.

I have exactly the same problem, and have not figured it out yet.

As the original user, I have installed it, found them completely fine in the correct order, loaded the mods, hit next (game data was configured, took a while) had an overview of active mods (all of them were stated) hit "back" because only this is available and well.. no changes compared to Vanilla.

It is probably something very very stupid.
 
Hey guys, having a bit of a problem getting this mod to work. I used the auto-installer, with EUI. Activated all mods, 1-6a. I can get into game setup and look through all the different factions, but whenever I go to start the game it loads through the intro speech. Then when I hit the play button it loads then starting position and immediately freezes. I know the EUI isn't a problem because the game runs fine with it in vanilla. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.
 
I'm also having trouble with EUI compatibility, specifically with a Community Patch only installation.

Some of the EUI modules are missing like the leader bar, but most importantly the top right toolbar which lets me access Espionage, Congress, Decisions, etc. It only shows Diplomacy for some reason. EUI works fine with vanilla and I've narrowed it down to a Community Patch Problem.

I followed the instructions on page 1 for making it compatible, which involved removing these files:

CityBannerManager.lua
CityBannerManager.xml
CityStateStatusHelp.lua
DiploList.lua
ProductionPopup.lua
YieldIconManager.xml
YieldIconManager.lua

are these instructions outdated? I'm using the newest EUI and the beta Community Patch (since some other mods I want to use need the beta version).

Remove the NotificationPanel files too.

Let's get to the point: I'm having some troubles with your mods, Gazebo. I've installed it through the auto installation and picked the version with everything incluced. Now, if I want to run just that - without any other 3rd party mods, which files should I enable? 1-5? or 1-6a? And is there anything I need to delete? I've tried both 1-5 and 1-6a and on both occasions the game ran fine up untill a certain point, at which it either froze or crashed. That happened usually about 10-30 turns into the game. I haven't deleted any files btw.

EDIT: forgot to mention, I did have some missing textures in the game. If I recall correctly, it was mostly hover-over's from buildings, techs etc.
EDIT2: I've read up a bit on the installation process. Can you please explain what EUI actually means? I see that when you download the version with EUI, you need to mess around a bit with the files. But what does EUI do? What will I miss if I use the non-EUI version?
EDIT3: I can't find any LUA folders to delete. All I see is "mapscripts" containing a LUA file, is that what I need to delete?

If you installed the mod with the auto-installer, you don't need to delete any lua files. Just load 1-6a (or 6b, if not using EUI), hit next, and you're good to go.

Well, the thing is, I'm getting missing textures and crashes, but I haven't done anything besides activating 1-6a.
Also, I'm getting some missing names.
