Good turns Cuivienen, but I wonder what would happen if the steal doesn't work Do you have a plan to drop back on? Even if we go to war w/ that empire, we're not Catholic so we can't get it from reparations from the enemy. I personally didn't think we'd go for that wonder (I was thinking Bayeux, since it WAS made in the Byzantine Empire ) but if we have a good enough plan to fall back on I think we could go for it. Right now, I'm kind of doubtful... what say you?

If we fail to steal Western Church, we can always use the prebuild for either Bayeux or Domesday.

Of course, since this is a Conquest, random seed is not preserved... *evil laugh* jk

First the SAVE

Preturn-move some of the unmoved workers and settler.
IT-Norse Tradition comes in Research set to castle building at 40%. Should be in in 17 turns. Athens Settler->Dromon. Caesarea worker->worker. Pliska warrior->warrior.
1-Buy seafaring from Danes for 92 gold. Abbasids have Castle Building. Load settler in Ephesus on a Dromon,
IT-Adrianople warrior->sword.
2-Settle Naissus. Dromon with settler picks up a spear in Athens. Do a one scientist research so we can have gold for warrior upgrades. Upgrade 8 warriors to swords.
IT-Larissa settler->spear. Vidin temple->worker. Nicaea worker->worker.
3-Upgrade 2 more warriors. Start to send 6 swords from Turkey to the Balkens. Send 3 swords from Adrianople to Pliska.
IT-Ephesus settler->dromon. Sredets worker->worker.
4-Settle Dyrrachium. Drop off 2 settlers on Crete. Continue to move swords toward the Balkens.
IT-Constantinople Dromon->Dromon. Pliska warrior->sword. Trebizond warrior->worker.
5-Settle Septum and Nicomedia on Crete. Upgrade another warrior. Load 4 swords into Dromon at Constantinople, unload them in Varna.
IT-Adrianople sword->sword.
6- Change of plan. The rest of the Balkens can wait. New plan. Take out the Abbasids. Start moving troops back. Load 4 swords in a Dromon and send him toward Cyprus.
IT-Varna horse->temple. Smyrna rax->sword.
7-movements.
IT-Vidin worker->worker. Chalcedon spear->temple. England is building the HRE. research back to 40%. England is the only catholic nation that has it.
8- Settle Amorium.
IT-Constantinople Dromon->Dromon. Nicaea worker->worker. Germany and France are building the HRE.
9-Buy CastleBuilding from germany for 15gold, horses, and silks. Do a one scientist on CoL to get more gold for a steal. Build an embassy with germany. Everyone is going to have Castle Build soon so I trade it off for all of the gold i can get. Netting about 175 gold. Movements.
IT-Caesarea worker->worker. Corinth settler->Temple. Sredets worker->worker. Adrianople sword->sword. Heraclea rax->sword.
10- 4 more swords are loaded up and off they go.

In a couple turns we should be able to steal the christian tree enterence tech from the Germans. Once our dromons reach Abbasid territory I believe we should take the holy land from them. We will have 12 swords there soon. The prebuild in Ancyra has 39 turns left.

My Conquests CD got a bunch of scratches on it from being scraped across the floor by a crazy feline friend/fiend. Guess I need to go buy a new one, and soon. Until then, I'm out. I'll probably have a new CD next weekend. Blue Laws prevents stores around here from being open Sundays.

Sorry, I only got 6 turns in... this week has been horrid.

Summary:
Many more swords produced, but we need AT LEAST 12 more to secure Jerusalem... I mean... just look at it. (pic taken on turn 3)

I founded a new city, but am building a settler in Nicaea to build a city over the quarry (WHICH IS NEEDED FOR WALLS!!!!). No new trades, but did meet Russia (way behind, they don't have HBR) and did notice Abbasids have been sending quite a few troops north (even though they are polite w/ us). I have the three dromons positioned near Jerusalem in case they declare on us, but all it will do is damage them since it is so well protected. All I ask is that the next person BUILD UP OUR SURROUNDING DEFENCES and focus more on swords/horsies now. Good luck and remember, next player goes to Turn 70 (about 13 turns). Hopefully this will be the last type of crisis i have to deal with for at least a month

It was really fine and cool in Bulgaria, but back to topic....

I'll play tomorrow (likely) or the day after. So, I got it right. I won't attack? Because i suppose the counter-attack to be very strong. But of course, I haven't taken a look on the safe, so I have no idea, how strong we are... .

When I look at the map, I still see Bulgaria alive? Shouldn't we overroll them? Because from my mind, one of their cities is near our iron sources? But I'll see tomorrow.
