Config File Auto Resets

I'm having a big problem with CivIV not saving "FullScreen" mode. I'm running Win7, have latest patch and drivers. I was able, after manual editing able to get it saved and not resetting for a couple games, but now that I've come back and am trying to run it, it's resetting back to "FullScreen".

The CivilizationIV.ini file is resetting to blank or only saving everything BUT my "FullScreen" selection. I've tried editing and saving the file by hand (adding in FullScreen and ScreenHeight/ScreenWidth) and it gets erased as soon as I run the app (of course, it resets to FullScreen too).

If you aren't running the game as administrator, Win 7 will not allow write access to the BTS folders to be able to save your configuration changes. You don't see the error message because it's just a permissions issue that isn't serious enough to pop up a warning window.

Win 7 hides the BTS folder and locks it while the game is running to avoid corruption and accidental or malicious changes while the program is executing. This "helpful" nuisance can be alleviated by right clicking when starting BTS and choosing "Run as Administrator", or setting the properties of the exe file to start as admin all of the time.
