Choppers can't travel on water outside cultural borders. although they hover over land. Same goes for hovercraft but then inland.Only flat terrain? Also i could not enter all water tiles with hovercraft.

Researched the tech that spawned the pirate civ. And it spawned right next to me. Coincidence?

No bugs encountered so far.

Yes, My idea is that helicopters also need a kind of "homesupport" , such as S.A.R helicopters. The range of this helis over sea is also limeted, because of fuel.

Yes, in my opinion the Hovercrafttechnique needs a flat surface to function. On terrain with different heights on the narrowest space, it does not work...i think.
And the Searange/move limiting is just the same, in hight waves this technique does not work. But thats only my opinon...

Hey guys, I want to replace in the next version a couple of unit graphics.
I want to take out the ATAT and ATST.
The ATAT will be replaced by the current Marauder.
The Marauder will be replaced with this Mech...

Maybe as an Upgrate for the Heavy Rotor?!?! And the ability to transport 1 Unit?!?!

In addition, there should be some new things in the event manager ...

All in all, I would have done to the end of the month ... if there is interest.

Unfortunately I can not finish earlier because I have semester exams.

I think Marauder is better storywise. You cant avoid Star wars references using the AT-AT.

Finished a game today on normal diff and lost due to Roze winning a Trancendance victory. I was playing with the scientist faction and was around researching Orbital Engineering. Me and Morgan being the most advanced. I had 6 cities on the standard Planet map. Morgan was the biggest with more than 10 cities Lots of wars were going on and had been for some time.

I must say i played AC long ago and forgot about the concepts. Still it felt a bit early for a victory (of any kind) with about less than one third of the tech tree to be researched. Did not feel like a climax.

Since this game favors Defence immensely its hard to conquer, so i wonder how to stop such a victory.

The cloudbase can only carry missiles? However its great for city defence!

Yes you are right! I had the same "problem". But on bigger maps, i only play large maps (more fun i think) , the trancendance victory is rare. Maybe you should choose next time a bigger map?! I have made one, with many continents and islands...i can upload the new version if someone is interested.
You can find an older version of this map in the modfolder "Private Maps"...

Carry aircraft you say, I would never have thought of that. Ill ty play a bigger map next time which i usually do. But since this is still a learning XP i thought i do a quick one. Although bombarding all those pesky worms each turn can slow things down.

:lol::lol::lol::lol: Remove the fungus to nearby bases. Be nice to the planet. Maybe you use the civic terraforming...
 
Yes i overlooked how useful terraforming is a bit too late in the game. I was trying to be neutral planetwise, just happily researching to get to know the game etc. I was surprised how much more planetfriendly other factions were when i conquered some cities late in the game. Time to read the beginner guide... :)
 
Having played a standard map and a large map i can say that the trancendace victory is too early and easily achieved having both won and lost with it. Although on both accounts i wasnt much better than Dan Quale..:cry: Also on both accounts the timer was already running. CoG 2.0 has an extended tech tree so that would explain it felt early. Second and won game i wasnt even the most advanced still others were nowhere near the end of the techtree.

Recommendation; extend the time to win to be able to use the full tech tree and the flowering counter per map size to fit the extended time.

On terrain and city Defense. There are no native species that can bombard so you end up with a mix of conventional and planet units. Preferrably Locusts and Heavy Rotors(Can bombard city def or units) since they negate terrain features can move over sea(rotor only cultural alas!) and land and move fast.

So you cant really go all native unless you overwhelm your opponent. Although they are cheaper to build than conventional units if you dont bombard city defenses unit losses will be great. Also for roleplay it would be better for native units to spawn instead of building them.

Also it diminishes player headaches when not having to deal with terrain movement or lack thereof..

On the flowering counter, Native sea and land fungus spread is minimal. That does not seem to have much effect. What made me win was the concordat vote to increase the flowering counter at first with 1, the next time around with 8??. In the meantime i conquered some large cities but they did not have any fungus exept for two medium sized sea colonies. Other than that i cant explain.

Also i found it surprising that Deirdre keeps running biodomed and not hybrid. There was little fungus to be found in her territory, altough she is supposed to be the big ecologist. So a believer in name only if you will.

Maybe tie certain votes/number of votes/trancendance victory on how much fungus you have and protect.

Unity Foils are not very usefull since they can only hug the coast. You get them from pods. If you are lucky and are close to your cultural borders then you can upgrade to a gun foil which then can explore everywhere. If you get one far from your border then you are out of luck aswell. Same goes for aquaformers and supplyfoils if you are far from your base you can send them home but the probabilty of them arriving is minimal due to native activity.

Unity cryobay only upgrades cities you have and since its a start wonder most of the time it only affects capitals. Since waiting for more cities and then building it has the chance of someone else completing it. Also i was able to complete with a sea suppy pod the unity mining laser in one turn.

Started one game with advanced start and found that native activity is much higher to begin with.

The concordat can be built as soon as you have voice of planet but i dont know what votes can be cast right from the beginning. All of this is Planetfall related so i dont know what or if you are willing to change.

Some arguments you mentioned are subjective in nature. I find that the foils are useful, it is the first Marine units at all ...
That the former are often attacked by aqua native Lifeforms if they are on the way home, is normal i think...
I feel it is not too disturbing, that's part of the game...

If I can not change it, I' will write a little in the DATALINKS that this wonder have only an influentce on existing bases...
