Confusion about diplomacy text.

Oftentimes there are two lines I see over and over again:

For first contact: "Greetings. Would you rather be our friend or our foe?"

or

"What do you want? Speak quickly and chose your words carefully."

Do the new civs and leaders have unique diplomacy text? I miss all the unique text from vanilla FfH. It made the game so much more immersive, despite being only words.

Also, old leaders and civs, like say the Malakim, also use those lines.

Is this a bug or mistake with the programming or what? Just wondering.

This is a "feature" that has annoyed the heck out of me since it was introduced. Basically all civs have a 50% chance to use their unique dialog, and a 50% chance to use the generic dialog, which is some cases makes NO sense at all (Hyborem: Good, then there shall be peace between our lands).

I have never heard a convincing explanation why this is the case, but if I knew how to change it I would be all over that.

I am not a programmer, but this does seem quite modable.

Do the new civs and leaders even have unique text? I don't think the minor or emergent ones do, with the exception of Nojah.

Well, if there's anything like 50% of generic answer and 50% of civ specific answer, then my guess would be that it must be modded in DLL, because I don't believe python would handle diplomacy screens ... though I might be wrong.

I think the generic ones were introduced so that leaders don't have to have intro text written for them (seems lazy to me, but w/e); I just wish the leaders that DO have text never used the generic.

If someone could fix the generic text frequency (as in, make it vanish), I might be willing to write diplomacy text for the leaders.
