Conquest of the World

Where did you get this map from? I want it :)

Also, any chance you could post the bic so i don't have to faf with corruption?

OOh, and also, why not edit this map futher so everyone starts in the right place?

1) Are you serious?...It's just a Huge Earth Map...31 civs...

2) He already posted both his earlier save and instruction on how to get rid of corruption.

3) Hmmm...Let me think here. What would mae sense on why he wouldn't do that...Oh yeah! Some people in this world like originality!

Because he can't put two starting locations (Byzantines and Ottomans have the same city as their capital, just under different names) on the same square. Plus, don't you think that would overcrowd some areas and undercrowd others?

Heheheheh. Russia would win.

Update coming later today. In the mean time, here are the saved game files for cubsfan6506:

http://forums.civfanatics.com/uploads/112675/Alexander_of_the_Greeks_1874_AD.SAV
This is the 1874 AD save - the closest to 1875 AD that exists.

This is the 1764 AD save - the first one after I entered the Industrial Age. It'll give you the full scope of the Industrial Age.

And this is the 1635 AD save. This is right after Industrial Age Persia declared war on me and I only had Hoplites and Medieval Infantry. It'll be a good challenge, especially if you decide to try an offensive strategy.

I have plenty of other saves as well, including several from the first half of the 19th century.

Thank you. :worship: :worship::worship::worship::worship::worship:

^No problem. Enjoy the games.

Exactly. That's why I didn't play the Huge Earth with accurate starting locations.

I checked in the Civ3 Vanilla editor, and didn't find the corruption modifying tools that the Conquests editor has, either in the rule changes or a search of the Help file. So no corruption might well be impossible in Vanilla. If you have Conquests, view my profile and there's a link to the .biq file with modified corruption and starting locations for 31 civs.

The Earth map came with Civilization III. It should be under CivContent and be called Earth (Huge).bic.

Questions regarding that file:

A. It is a conquests biq file, right?
B. I have 1.00 Patch- will I be able to play it?
C. If A is Yes, how did you make a Huge Earth biq file?

A. Yes
B. Yes. It works in 1.00 exactly as it does in 1.22 (I loaded a new CivContent game in 1.00 just now to test).
C. Open the Civ3ConquestsEditor, select open files, change format to .bic from .biq, open the Earth (Huge).bic file, change the map however you like, and then Save As in the .biq format.

What I'm asking is how you change the format. How do you make a bic file into a biq file?

Open the .bic file. Then choose Save As, change the file type to .biq, change the name to something with "biq" after the dot (you'll have to change the .bic to .biq yourself even after changing the File Type drop-down menu), and hit save. Everything else (new gov'ts, etc.) should be done for you by the editor.

Thanks. :worship:

Civrulesall, If you've looked at the other story threads, you'd notice that most people (including me) wait 2-3 weeks for an update before they start posting posts like that. Me and Quintillus would like it if you did the same- we post updates at least once a week!

I ventured out of the One More Turn Theatre thread and stumbled upon this one. I have read all the updates and am anxiously awaiting the next one. Keep up the great game!

How do you get screenshots from the game into your story?

Awesome read, by the way.

How do you get screenshots from the game into your story?

Awesome read, by the way.
1. In the game, press the "Prnt Scrn" button when you have on your screen what you want a picture of.
2. Open a program like Paint and hit "paste".
3. Upload the image to Photobucket (or ImageShack, etc.).
4. Paste the URL code it gives you between [IMG][/IMG] tags in a post, and voila!

Although you might want to resize the screenie to 800x600 prior to uploading.

Here's how you can make screenshots:

1. When you want to make a screenie, hit the "Print Screen" button on your keyboard.
2. Get into paint. You can do this without exiting the game via the "windows" key.
3. Type "Ctrl-V" or click Edit-Paste to paste the screenie from the game onto paint.
4. Edit the screenie as necessary.
5. Save as .jpg file.
6. Upload file to the civfanatics upload server, or to Imageshack or Photobucket.
7. Once uploaded, you can Ctrl-C Ctrl-V the link into IMG tags in you post.
8. Poof! You have the screenies in your story.

EDIT: x-post with RegentMan.
