Conquest of the World

Nope. I have 1.00 due to the "Please Insert CD" Bug, and I can't rush wonders with MGL's.

LOL, The (for the moment) living Zulus and Iroqouis are both behind a civ that's been dead for a while!

And for anyone who cares, the average score is about 583.

:P You're conquering way too slowly to win now in my opinion.

I'd fight several wars at a time if possible.

I probably am conquering a bit too slowly now. It'll speed up considerably once I get a post-Combustion technology or two. After that, Africa and Asia should fall quickly. Complete conquest by 2050 remains unlikely, but Greece ought to be pretty dominant by then.

The Zulu are doing a mite poorly in score. I think they lost a war to Egypt and Rome before I even met them, and that set them back a long ways. But they've recovered nicely since then. They've added 2/3 of Madagascar and now two Egyptian cities to their empire, so they ought to surpass the French soon.

England also is doing surprisingly well for their location (northern Siberia). I doubt they'd survive a war due to lack of strategic resources, but thanks in large part to huge amounts of fish they're actually in the top ten in score.

Good luck in your conquering! How long does it take for your turn to come back around when you end it now? Mine with a full world of 31 takes like 7 minutes! I have no clue how to reduce it.

Could you possible upload the save for this I think it would be fun to play.

It's about seven minutes for me, too. I'll time it next time I play. I'm not sure how to reduce it, either. Installing more memory didn't help (did wonders for CivIV, though - got it down to 32.6 seconds in 1847 with 18 civs on a world map with 8432 tiles from many minutes). That's why I don't update as often anymore - it takes a lot longer. Plus, when I am doing something on the side while I wait, I tend to get into that and wait even longer before going back to my Civ game!

Which save do you want, cubsfan6506? I have 4000 BC and most (if not all) other years that the story parts begin/end at, as well as a few in between.

I'm awful with not deleting Civ saves. I checked a few weeks ago and I had almost 3000 Conquests saves approaching 1 gigabyte. And that's in addition to 1,250 vanilla saves totaling 3.37 gigabytes. Guess I know where to turn if I ever run out of space!

No further updates yet. I had a paper to write tonight, and fortunately didn't start playing Civ before I started writing it!

Yeah, soon the 4 last-place civs will all be dead- when the Zulu get above France and Korea pwns Iroqouis.

Or, for that matter, the 5 last-place civs if/when Zulu gets ahead of Germany.

I have a GPA high enough to get into any college in the US.

How?

Four words.

Deity. Huge. Industrial Age.

edit: That didn't make much sense, what I mean is I do pretty much all my homework and studying inbetween waiting for my turns in the 1800s+

!

1875 please.

=/ Maybe to check out how long it'll take to load on his comp.

Or see how fast (if at all) he can win.

I mean, I don't think ANYONE can win conquest on that map unless they start over with a MUCH more aggressive strategy, fighint 2-3 wars at a time.

Are you kidding me? If it didnt take for ever I could easily own that map. When I get into the "war state" it doesnt stop. I go from 1 civ to the other, and if 1 civ managed to settle just 1 village out of my reach, i become super pissed  and take out all my anger on my next target civ. I keep conquering ym neighbors and expand my borders. Most times when I get into my war state, I destroy a civ in several turns (fav = calvary). Then I go straight after another one, and my newly aquired land hasn't even been utilized yet. :crazyeye:

1 example is those 3 screens I posted on your story, if you notice I controlled basically 2 continents, that held like 10 civs on it. All the land wasn't even covered by cultural expansions yet and I wiped out the french on the other continent :goodjob:

But alas those were in the days of the Cheiftain level
