In the victory conditions window, I see that one can win a game by defeating all other players. However, I always achieve a Domination victory before that happens. I miss killing every other Civ on the world. How can I achieve a conquest victory without winning a domination victory?

i used to have this problem too. you have to change up your playstyle a bit. like others have said, raze cities instead of capturing them. wipe the civ off the map. if you like their territory, settle there later yourself, but get rid of the civs first.

I haven't achieved a conquest victory yet, but with the opportunistic AI's propensity for settling in any open territory that pops up, I think you'd have to leave a few units hanging around the razed areas to kill the settlers that are bound to come by.

yeah, the dumb ai always tries to resettle a razed city, so have a couple units there, good point ^^

Thanks for the info & sorry about the mispost in the article section. That always happens to me (the "strategy" link off the main page goes to the articles section). I'll give razing cities a shot and see what happens (if I can get v1.61 to stop crashing...).
