but ww is civ dependent, happiness increases every time one is eliminated as their ww is eliminated, going to war with Prussia or another will just add more ww problems, in any case that's what is says in the ww topic in the War Academy and also what i've experienced
As France, I quickly take out the Dutch and slowly trudge through KON myself. Get Spain to take out Portugal.
That leaves Britain. They are a much harder nut to crack. Build up a massive force of Icavs and Grand Batteries. This takes some time. Land your invasion force in Britain, protected by an army and go at 'em. Lastly, you need a ROP with Spain to take Gibraltar. Don't sign in the Spanish against Britain. They have pathetic units and will only end up promoting the British defenders.
Once Britain is gone, you'll have no more WW and you can finish the game by attacking Prussia or Austria for VP.
As to the other civs, I usually declare war on the Ottomans on turn 1 and sign in all the other civs against them. The AI will be distracted fighting far away from you.
As France I disbanded my entire fleet. Frigates against man of war dont stand a chance and 15 shields are more that i expected. And you really only need a fleet if you plan to settle in britain.
After naval tactics the scenario changes a little but with no bombarding it seems that the shields lost vs points just dont worth it.
