Louis, you cant found cities on desert unless there is an oasis or a river. There is not one example in existence of desert cities with no major source of water. Mecca, for instance, has a small source of water, but not enough to make agriculture a real posibilty. Medina's source of water is larger, and therefore there is some agriculture.

I just don't want to see cities springing up in Libya, Syro-Arabia and the Arabia empty quarters
