Console Games Thread

Seems every thread for a console game gets a few posts and then dies. So why not make a thread for all of them?

I should be getting Wind Waker today. I cannot wait at all. I'm still trying to figure out when GameStop opens though... Finally a new Zelda game!

So, anyone else here have GC and Zelda, or any other system you want to talk about? I only own GC, but I play Xbox at my friend's house all the time - I'm getting better at Halo then he is.

And usually I'll start my own PS2 threads (though probably no one's reading), which eventually turns into my own personal spam threads...

I have a gamecube

Anyways, I want Wind Waker too. Only maybe I should order it online rather than to buy it cash. At first I was skeptical of the cel-shaded graphics, but I got used to the new look a month ago and probably when I begin playing it Ill like them even more

Hey, CG, what games do you have? The only three Ive got are Super Smash Bros Melee, Metroid Prime, and Super Mario Sunshine. Ive been playing almost exclusively SSBM ever since I got my gamecube a month and a half ago, trying to unlock everything. Unfortunately, I have not done that yet Oh yeah, I know youve beaten Metroid Prime, so dont you dare spoil anything for me

As for other consoles, I dont hate them, I just leave my preference at the gamecube. Mostly becaues Ive never been a fan of PS2 type RPGs like KD is, but oh well.

I have a Gamecube and have had Wind Waker since 3/25. It's awesome. The puzzles are great, the story is great. The graphics are better than I would have thought but are still in my opinion the biggest drawback but it is still the the best game for the GC I have played so far. The games I have are:

Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time/MasterQuest
Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker
Metroid Prime
Phantasy Star Online: Episode I & II
Resident Evil
Sonic Adventure 2: Battle

Wind Waker is amazing. The graphics are perfectly done - it is the closest a video game has ever come to a cartoon. It really looks like anime. Having seen a cel shaded Zelda, I'll never look back. The whole game is beautiful, masterfully done - its a true sequel to OoT.

@ Silverflame: I've had my GC since the first Christmas it was released. My games are:

Most of those games are gotten on Christmas, Birthdays, etc. I think they only games I bought out of my own money is WW...

I just beat Wind Waker about 20 minutes ago, seemed a little easy. I only had 12 of 20 (I assume) hearts and *-spoiler-* didn't find the fairy which doubles your magic *-endspoiler-* but still got through the end game the first time without any prior knowledge of the tactics necessary. Also the ending was kinda crap as it seemed way to short, what was there was ok but the should have tied up more loose ends. But there is a great redeeming feature after you win, *#-huge spoiler-#* there's seems to be a second quest! I haven't tried it yet but that is fantastic IMO anyway *#-endhugespoiler-#* Anyway I would still highly recommend renting this for about 6 days or so or borrowing it from a friend but if you aren't getting the bonus disc with it it may not be worth $50.

Anyway, I'm enjoying this game very much. I just beat the Tower of the Gods, and....*SPOILER* that huge battle after you get the Master Sword is fun. *END SPOILER*

I cant even get Wind Waker yet. School work is piling on me like crazy now. When I first had my gamecube, I could squeeze in a half-hour to an hour a day or so. Now I havent played since Sunday! I hope to get Wind Waker this weekend, but oh well

I had the same problem a week ago. Luckily before I got WW. As if reading my mind, the teachers toned down work this week!

I preordered WindWaker, and have had it since it came out. How Cedric beat it already is beyond me, though. Perhaps you didn't read the note on Sturgeon's wall that said "And don't stay up playing all night!" I'm completely stuck right now, though up to this point it has been a bit easy. Other than the difficulty, it's pretty much perfect. The story is probably the best in the series.

Not that its bad. Xbox fanboys are easily the worst. Just go to gamefaqs Xbox message board to see what I mean. If theyre not modding DOA:XBV to show, erm, adult content, then theyre calling Mario and Zelda rehash

Nintendo of America hit the top in US! PS2's long rein from an extra year of sales has finally been dethroned! Down with Vice City!

Why? Quite simple. Wind Waker combined with Pokemon and the GBA SP has pushed Nintendo into the top spot. Go Nintendo!

I bought dynasty warriors 4 yesterday. No easy task finding this game, let me tell you gentlemen. 4 different stores, none of which carried it. I ended up getting a preordered one that hadnt been picked up (poor sucker who preordered it, I felt kind of bad).

Meanwhile, I picked up Wind Waker last Sunday. I'm only getting about an hour or so worth of gaming time, so I'm going really slowly. I only reached the second dungeon Stupid schoolwork.

Well, gee, they're marketing 2 systems as opposed to one, and just released a new variation on GameBoy. Since the death of Game Gear, GameBoy is esentially the only handheld console. It's not exactly fair to bring it into the factor when comparing Nintendo vs. Sony, is it ?

Not that I give a flying fart about Sony, which killed my SEGA systems . Dreamcast STILL has a better game line up than any of the current nextgens, damnit!

Yeah, but Sony has such a ridiculous lead in consoles that I think it is comparable. Two years ahead, and I've heard they have in the tens of millions more then Gamcube and Xbox. As that link showed, sales of Gamecube AND GBA COMBINED just barely dethroned the PS2!

PS2 and XBOX, I never got into the whole "dolphin" craze. And that's how I stopped buying Nintendo.
