Constitution Discussion : Article C, form of Government

If the legislative is dissolved, than the people have no part in the government, and we have an oligarchy.

Not so. Any law needs to be voted on by the citezens. You don't need to create a branch of government for them to do that.

Yeah Zorven... the baranches are good only if you want a specific law to be voted only by the people in specific branch.
But I think is not necessary due to small number of new lows during the game

I think we might be able to remove this article for reasons of repetition of rules.

Proposed article C Poll:
Code:
Article C. The government will consist of the Executive Branch,
            Legislative Branch and Judicial Branch.

Legistlative branch to me in this applies to

A.) the citizenry - "The House of Represenatives" in American government
B.) A "senate" from governors (OPTIONAL)

As such Legislative branch is valid, however, a "Senate" or a group of voting governors would just be another part of this branch, IF included, but wouldn't change things if we had none.

Yeah, the Senate is pretty much gone now, some people want to rename it and make it a cigar-smoking good ole boys club, which is fine by me. I believe the citizenry should still be in the Legislative Branch. They're the ones that approve everything.

Should Article C be removed from the constituion?
Code:
Article C. The government will consist of the Executive Branch,
            Legislative Branch and Judicial Branch.
Yes
No
Abstain

We could even hold this poll right now!

I would vote NO.

Keep it in there, it lays out the general structure of the government, while not 100% neccisary, it helps show players that we try to work things like a real government.

And that there's a Legistature which votes on every thing, an Executive Branch which is put in charge of various responcibilities, and a Judicial Branch to keep people in check.

It's only one paragraph, doesn't add much complexity, just helps set things up for the rest of the consitution

so the original proposal still stands? alright :)

Im simply trying to breathe some life back into these discussions.

If they are still DoA, well then lets bring it to closure by next week.
