continents plus and city states

I have started 4 different games playing on the continents plus map, and I have found no city states in any of them. Is this some scripting issue?

More info: -Each game I have explored for at least 50 turns before quitting
-Yes, I checked to see if I disabled city states.
-I have 28 city states enabled (the maximum allowed)

They're generally on their own islands, and rarely on the mainland. My guess is they just might not be on an island near you and near the coast.

There's no need to scout to find out things like this. Just start out the game in future era so you'll have satelites researched and can see the whole map from the get go.

If you don't like the CS placement on islands in "Pangea Plus" and "Continents Plus", there is a posibility to change the correlated XML data. There was a comment in an previous thread about this.

Unfortunately, I do neither remember the thread nor where to make the changes. As I would be interested in this, too, it would be great if anybody could post this information here again...

They're almost always put on island chains of the coast. Sometimes far away from you.

I like this personally.

Oh, I like the island chains very much, too!

But sometimes I which to meet CSs earlier in the game or have a nice island (say: not one of these three-tile-handkerchiefes) to settle *myself*. The ... Plus scrips have a very high bias of SCs placing towards these offshore islands. A little bit to high for my taste.

I think you've just been unlucky.

Since the patch i've started 2 or 3 games, on Continents Plus. I have noticed that the CS's do appear more sparse (when compared to pre-patch standard Continents), but I have found a few each game.

Not sure if its a map size issue. Due to having a crappy PC, I play Small, but with Low Sea level and I add in more CS's and AI's.
