Hey all, I just uploaded a new mod called Contrived Constructions (Available through the mod browser under Buildings.)

It adds two new buildings; the Granary, and the Brewery.

Though there is already a granary in the core game, it's modded quite a bit (for instance Thaliccus changed it to a smoke house,) so I added a new building.

The new Granary increases the food output of Wheat resources by 2, and it can only be built in cities that have access to Wheat.

The Brewery increases Happiness by 2, and increases the Gold output of Wheat resources by 2, again it can only be built in cities near a Wheat resource.

I made this mod to increase the player's excitement when they see a resource as unassuming as wheat. In Civ 4 I used to get excited when I saw a location with a lot of really nice resources nearby, sadly that feeling has been less present in Civ 5.

Please critique the mod, tell me if the maintenance costs, build costs, or benefits of the buildings are too good/too bad.

I'll add a read me file at a later time, don't really have time right now :P.
 
Great... I added stuff that other people had already done, only theirs were better :(. Damn X___X
 
No penalty for trying and points for figuring it out on your own. It's all experience under the belt for that next great idea no one else has thought of. ;)
 
The brewery is a great idea. I thought of it, but haven't taught myself how to make mods yet. The fact that so many other people thought about it too kinda makes me wonder why Firaxis didn't though....
 
Say Plasma, When I launched a mod game with Contrived Constructions enabled, I could look up the Brewery in the Civilopedia, however when I open the tech tree I don't see a Brewery Building icon in the Theology tech oval. Any ideas?
