Control Definition Error?

I get these errors, they make the game unplayable. This is the worst expansion I've ever bought for Civ, ever.

I've tried;

1. Deleting and reinstalling from Steam
2. Deleting my save folder
3. Deleting the UI folder and verifying

I recently moved my game files to an SSD, and my graphics card is an AMD 7850HD.

If you have BNW you likely have to delete the UI folder the new folder as well.

I just installed BNW and it also works fine after my *fix*.

Hi guys, I think I may have found a good fix. I noticed that inside my game folder was a file called "update.cmd". I've just started it ... everything's good now.

So the problems was that some gods & kings files had to be deleted for brave new world to work

I registered just to post a fix which worked for me and does not require a redownload.

1. Delete "...\common\Sid Meier's Civilization V\Assets\UI", "...\common\Sid Meier's Civilization V\Assets\DLC\Expansion\UI" and "...\common\Sid Meier's Civilization V\Assets\DLC\Shared\UI".
2. Verify Game
3. Play

I do not have BNW, but I do have G&K.

I had your very same problem and I've done every other fix mentioned (like the one to Styles_Expansion2.xml). I don't know if such fix is now required, but still here is how I solved everything.

I noticed that inside my game folder was a file called "update.cmd". I've just started it by command line (I don't know if double-clicking on it works the same) and... everything's good now.

No errors, no graphic glitch, no problem with menus (hotseat and the likes) and no "not-working" buttons.

If you don't have such file, here it is. Just extract it in "...\common\Sid Meier's Civilization V\" and run the content (update.cmd).

Have you tried deleting the entire game folder to force a re-download of the entire 6GB ? A real pain but I was about to try that had not Khrone's suggestion turn out to work for me

I downloaded your file and the error messages are gone. I had already applied Dennis Shirk's suggestions which got rid of about half the error messages, but some kept annoyingly popping up.
BNW actually ran fine for me, until I verified my game cache. Then those messages started to pop up. Reinstalling didn't help.

Tried all the above fixes and variations.
Still get this screen. I don't get error messages or anything, just a messed up menu and buttons!

I am receiving Control Definition Errors also is there a fix that doesn't require me to mess with files and stuff, I'm not a Computer wiz or anything and the last time I tried I destroyed my computer.
My options menu is also unusable, when I try to use it I have to ctrl/alt/del to get out of it.

Also getting this. Very annoying; I was able to play just fine yesterday after clicking thru all errors; today I tried deleting local files and reinstalling and now I can't even play the game after loading. What's going on, folks? My civ needs me!

I'm still getting 8 errors in the start game screen, I've gotten rid of the ones in the start up but when I try to start a new game or a saved one i get 8 errors that pop up, the game is playable but the options menu is unusable.
