Control Definiton Error

Hi everyone,
I'm getting this message whenever I try and load up a new game since I reinstalled from steam. I've seen in a different thread that running a file resolves the problem, but being a .cmd file, I cannot run it on Mac.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I've not been able to play Civ for a month or so now and it's driving me mad. I've had nothing but issues with Steam since originally downloading it.

Normally, problems with Civ5 can be resolved by re-installing it. Have you tried that?

Where is the .cmd file you referred to? It's possible that it's just a script, and that the things it does can be performed manually. However, tinkering with the software is pretty likely to end in tears, followed by a re-installation!
