Controlling the Time for which Info Captions are Shown

This is my first post - the first of many small, simple questions

Forgive me if I have posted in wrong section, and please move my post to a more
appropriate forum if I have

How do I control the time for which the captions (your Archer has killed an Enemy Warrior while defending) happens for the turn appear ? Even to the extent of clicking on them when I have read & understood them. They are up for so a short time I can't read them. (Similarly with other players moves)
I play only single player vs AI

You can open the event log in the upper left corner to look at them for as long as you want. Don't remember now exactly how it works without BUG-mod, but at least with BUG you can click an event in the event log and the screen will center on where that event took place, if for example you are not exactly sure where you were attacked between turns.
