Convert Civ6 mod "resource" from no files to files

After I have created a "resource" in the resource manage via downloads and my mod shows up under released mods, how do change that existing resource from No Files to Files?

Unless I am missing something obvious --- quite possible! --- none of the edit/update menus let me change the resource type (files, link or no files):
  1. Post Resource Update lets me update the title, add a note and upload an image.
  2. Edit Resource lets me change the title, tagline, description and links
  3. Edit Resource Icon lets me change the icon.
Originally I uploaded my mods to Steam and thought to post a note here on CFC, but have since received a number of requests to make them directly downloadable... which I would like to do.

Cheers,
VJ

I'll ask an admin if this can be changed.

Thank Gedemon. If the Admin needs a list of which resources/mods are in questions, they are the "Cities N hexes away" ones for 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9. Not sure if links would be helpful, but here they are:

I am more of a workshop instead of direct download guy myself, so didn't think to upload files (at least initially). Going forward, I will will do files for sure as there appears to be a far demand for them from the CDC user base.

VJ

The primary reason you are getting all the requests for a direct download link is that Civ5 Steam Workshop was (and still is) infamous for never actually downloading a mod a user subscribed to, or encountering an error during the download process and terminating early (but the mod would still be marked as 'completely downloaded'). Computer-savy people learned to just directly download a mod rather than relying on Steam to do it.

I haven't run into the download refusal issue with Civ6 Workshop, but everyone by now has run into the secondary reason for all these direct download requests. Steam automatically updates a user's mod when you the author update the mod on the Workshop. It does not ask if it ought to update the mod, nor care whether updating the mod will corrupt irretrievably the user's current game. But mods downloaded directly and manually placed in the MODS folder (as opposed to subscribed to) do not and can not update until or unless the user actually downloads a new version and manually over-writes the current version they have with a new version of a mod.

Plus, I think people who are used to Civ5's system are used to seeing their mods in the game's pre-provided MODS folder rather than in a mystery folder with a mystery ID# assigned by Steam Workshop and hidden away in an obscure location as the Civ6 Workshop is set up to do.

I am cool with doing uploads: give 'em what they want.

If the Admins are unable to convert the "resource type" for the affected resource/posts so I can upload, my guess is that the workaround will be for me to just recreate them anew but this time using the with file option.

Definitely felt the pain point for Civ5 mods via Steam's workshop in it's first year of launch, but at least for me that seems to have been fixed (in both Civ5 and Civ6). May history not repeat itself...

Yes, I think we'll have do go that way, tell me if you don't have the option to delete the resource.

If you need threads to be merged/moved after you've created the new resources, or if you have problems to reassign them, send me a PM.

Thanks Gedemon. Your help is appreciated. I will recreate later today, then see what I can do or not do thereafter.

I created new versions of the mod resources and they all have downloadable files. So yeah, that part is done.

As far as I am concerned, the originals (which do not have files) can be deleted. No need to merge anything.

Looks like you might be right about me not being able to delete either as I do not see anything that appears to resemble a delete. Is there a trick? Or do I need an Admin to do that?

Here are links to the 6 original resources that can be deleted:
