Converting Religions

Sorry if this has already been answered but I looked and didn't see anything.

When you do trade negotiations with another civ I notice the option at the bottom to request that they convert to a religion of your choice. But it's always red for me so I can't do it.

What makes this option available?

better relations with that civ & a good percentage of their pop already part of the religion you want them to convert to. For future reference, you can hover your mouse over the red text to see what that want in order for the option to become white.

They have to like you enough. Of course if you really want them to convert just invade them and when they beg for peace make them convert.

But for peaceful conversions, good diplomatic relations will help in getting them to convert.
