Cool and ugly looking ships

Listen, I know that the French military is better than they get credit, and I tried, I really tried, but I couldn't stop myself.

Saying this as a fellow American, I think their Military history is better than us. Yes they were bad in WW2 and Franco-Prussan War but we were bad at Vietnam and Iraq.

Different wars, different situations. I think Iraq and Vietnam for us is more like Algeria and Vietnam for them.

Anyways, I thought that relentlessly and seriously overanalysing flippant remarks was my thing? Well, I guess there is room for one more . . .

The French were also bad in Vietnam and Algeria.

Compared to the ships at the time, there was no rival for this fast, multiple gunner, troop carrier and ocean travel capability vessel.

Steph, is that a French First-Rate?

I thought most aircraft carriers launched the planes from the the back towards the front... not visa-versa

I can think of 0 aircraft carriers which do this. They always launch forward, and into a headwind, to give planes the least chance of stalling.

Yes, that's a 104-guns first rate, built in 1669, under the reign of Louis the XIV.

It's well known by ship model builder, and is one the best looking French ship of the time, if not the best.

Eran, stop picking on the cheese eating surrender monkeys. :nono:
