Copy/Paste Disabled?

Just tried on a new test mod and it worked fine for me... is it happening with all mods, or just some files?

It's a BE Modbuddy issue (for me only, apparently). Copy/paste is working fine for all my other applications, including the old CiV Modbuddy.

I thought this might have to do with my recent installation of 2005 C++ Redistributable, but no... I tried resetting all the keybindings in Modbuddy, checked the clipboard functionality, and even reinstalled the SDK. Nope...

So, no mods from me for Beyond Earth unless I get some sort of help from the SDK guys at firaxis. I'm not holding my breath on that one...

Works for me as well (luckilly ;))
You could just create the file with ModBuddy and copy-paste with notepad++ or another editor.

I cannot paste into Modbuddy BE, either. All copy/paste options are disabled going from, to or within modbuddy. :/

Of course I can import existing files (in fact I imported most of one of my old projects into modbuddy without any problems, including buildout). But for the scale and complexity of the mod projects I undertake, I just don't find this workaround feasible.

Somebody at Firaxis knows an answer to this issue, I'm sure... if they share it I would be happy to continue to churn out mods that their customers will enjoy... if not I'm fine with continuing to mod CiV.

I can understand the frustration, but I do a lot of my editing outside of ModBuddy. It's smart enough to recognize that a file has been updated outside of the IDE if you've got a file open in 2 apps.

Anyway, I'd be pointing your finger at Microsoft for this one, not Firaxis.

Good luck.

Yes, I think there have been issues with copy/paste in Win 8. I think the issue for me may be a corrupted ISO shell install, so I may try to reinstall.

Also, I'm not saying Firaxis is "at fault" for this, but I think they probably know a solution. Support for their software is in their purview. I'll wait and see if my support request is answered (my guess is no..)!
