Corporate Buyout

hi everyone

i would like to know if it is possible to put a feature into the game where you could buyout another corporation. Like, since the sushi and cereal corporations are competitive, one leader could buy the other from another civilization and then replace all the bought-out corporation's headquarters with mine. I was thinking it would go on the diplomacy screen.

is this a completely insane idea, or is it a real prospect? if it is, what would i have to do in order to make it work?

Sounds like it would be a good idea, but only if the total number umber of corporations were made much higher. Many of these corporations would probably be virtually identical, but since they'll merge eventually it shouldn't matter that much in the long run. It might also be nice if unrelated corporations could merge into conglomerates and provide the bonuses both corperations' benefits wherever either is present. (whether thats a good thing or not)

Cooperate buyouts/mergers should be handled through random events rather than diplomacy. That would be simpler to code and more realistic.

i thought about that, but it seems to me that using random events to merge corporations would take away from the control of them.

What i was intending to do was to have 8 corporations, 2 founded by each great person (two food, two manufacturing, two fashion/jewelry, and two energy) and to have each one compete with its counterpart. Also, i would have it so only one corporation of a specific type can be founded by each civilization.

How would i do something like this? Would it even work?

I was thinking along these lines.

I was going to convert the interface for 43religions and make it a corporation screen

but I wanted to create a lawyer or legal team unit (I created the unit already) but the hard part was going through the inquisitor code from Gods of Old andtry to make it eliminate corporations instead of religions. Basiically I was going to have the lawyer sue the corporation to put it out then you'd swoop in with your other corporation. This way you could also get rtid of some in your city.

I want to have more diversified corporations
- a refining oil co (adds hammers for each oil) and exporting oil co (adds gold for each oil) - they compete
- motor works a corporation that lets you build (cheaply) another building that requires that corporation that grants units the morale promotion so it would simulate motorizing your army
- a defense aerospace company that creates a building that adds certain promotions to air units
- East India Company that consumes culture but gives back gold
- Stuff like that.


I'm try ing to do my first leaderhead andd then I'm thinking of doing this. If you wnat to join efforts, I'm up for it.
