Well, I stated that notion once. Not sure that counts as "insisting". But also, it clearly didn't answer the question. I don't think that's a matter of opinion.

Yeah and I have perm-boycotted WaPo since. I will never sub again and I live here. Easy to get my news elsewhere. Main thing I miss are the editorials. Things have been changing anyway there since Beezos with staff leaving.

As for Amazon I have been considering this since well before this boycott thing.

Has to be a compelling competing political vision, though. Boycotts and protests are insufficient. Needs to be popular momentum, a re-envisioning of the future economically, of the role of the state, to really re-energize the public. Until that happens, even a strategically valid move is just gonna get overrun by morale disparity.

Boycotts require discretionary spending, which won't be happening in a downward-spiraling economy. I guess that counts?

Im not looking forward to the jump in electronic hardware prices. Sure I’m in a better situation now, but it’s still going to hurt should the need arises when I need to do any upgrades or replacements of components in my computer.

I will need a new processor and MB this summer. I expect/hope to keep my 1080 ti graphics card though. My current cpu won't handle Windows 11.

3080ti still rules and will do for the foreseeable future. Long behind are the times when changing hardware each x years made sense. Prices doesn't go down either as they used to do. I payed 1300€ for my new EVGA 3090ti like 2.5 years ago and now it cost twice that price. It is crazy.

1080ti is still pretty usable too, maybe the best card ever for his time. It is the previous card I had. I still have mine installed in my PC as a secondary card.
