Corporate responsibilit from McDonalds? In FRANCE???

No you are right after all, Garvarg.

If you want to start it up again I'm game.

This could be a positive post about ways in which corporations are taking responsibility for the quality of their product and its impact on individuals...

Any ideas?

I remember one time I was at a Dead Show and after the concert I was feeling a little gleeful and "open to influences" There was this fellow walking through the carnivalesque parkinglot yelling at the top of his lungs "boycott Burgerking and mcdonnalds, they cut down tropical rainforrests and kill baby whales... Boycott burgerking and mcdonalds......" over and over and over

I'm thinking, Dude, we just saw an amazing show, Saw sound and tasted color, and are feeling like a little playful hippie roll in the van. BK and McD's are the farthest thing from my mind rightnow. Where can I get a beer."

Was it good tasting color Wes? Because you can sue if it sub par!

Getting those kind of messages while you are in a Grateful mood can certainly make an impression. I recall looking at a flyer for vegetarianism when I was "seeing sound" in college and of course I was a vegetarian for the next five years or so...
Makes you wonder what a great advertising tool some of these influences could be? Imagine if that guy was shouting "delicious whoppers and big macks! Wash em down with beer if you like!"

And why do think Coka Cola is so popular? The original drink had (and this is true, not an urban legend) cocaine in it. Sure ya had to drink 20 bottles of it to get a buzz, but it still kept people coming back!

BTW Did you change your name, allan2? For some reason I was calling you newfangle. I apologize for the confusion if this wasn't a name change...

I was kind of scratching my head when you were speaking to Newfangle.... Now I understand.

No, I never was, am not, and never will be Newfangle. ;)

(I was just "Allan" until the server lost my password--or something like that. I've been "Allan2" for the past three or four months though.)

As for the discussion, I am all for voluntary things like what McDonald's France did. Those things are fine and good, and this particular instance may actually improve the image of this corporation in the minds of the consumer.

How this evolved into the lawsuit issue, I'm not sure (I don't think it was me though ;) )--but it just shows that when lawyers get involved and things turn from voluntary to forced (when it is not the place for that), it becomes theatre of the absurd.... And it bears discouraging implications as to how these people view ordinary human beings.
