Cost of Living Crsis: Fast Food

If I really need something quick to eat, I'll just buy a sandwich in a bakery. A fraction of the price of a fast-food and not as unhealthy.
Also it might be different in anglo-saxon countries, but here it's common (though, sadly, not as prevalent as some years ago, as the fast-food absurdity is gaining ground) to have "worker's restaurants", which are cheap restaurants with very simple menu (that's where "menu du jour" comes from, it means "today's menu") and rather fast service, as they are designed precisely to feed people during their lunch break.

I don't think USA has bakeries loje we do here.

Filled roll or sandwich is easy to find.

More typical local fast food, a variety of freshly fried seafood and beer. 3 tapas and beer for €6 plus some free olives. All pretty high quality (excepting the beer) at amazing price.

Are those things really thick pancakes, or really flat/ wide scones?

They look like simply lovely pancakes!

I was comparing notes with a guy in West Virginia. He bought Indian for his family of 3. It was over $100 USD here we pay around. $50-$60 nzd so 30-40ish usd. They were charging $6 for Naan bread. Here that's $4.50 ($2.80 approx).

$1 = 0.57 nzd.
