you can see by the ruins where i got that early all-desert town.
i never enjoyed a GA and had no idea how to usefully set up for one.

Edit: obviously i decided not only against a GA but also against Keshiks. (and i did not build a FP either...) after the govt tech i had also stopped reasearch, so all the techs after that came from the AS. i did not think that the MA techs could help with the victory date. however, i would have liked to have ENG.... but i could not get it from the AS. Byz was the only one to get there, but i would have had to delay their demise in order to "trade" for it in a false PD. i rather had them out of the game.

a nice one, i heavily rushed archers from faraway captured towns to maybe gain some turns while getting the pangaea under control. i again had nearly built my road network from tip to tip in the end.

Well done! Looks like Horsemen were the way to go here. I waited for Keshiks, stayed in builder-mode until then, and consequently reached Conquest only in 680 AD. The AI had settled too many towns by then, and the supply lines were just too long in this game. :dunno:

But I really like the advice of my foreign minister:

thanks. good to see that Keshiks were not the faster way... i gave them some consideration in advance of course but could not come up with a plan that looked favourable for a GA and the knight unit.

could you also upload a pic from your core?

yes, i also found that very funny. :)

but since all of my games look like that and some may already wondered... my civ-computer runs with civ open practically all the time, and if i need a break, i leave my work computer and play a turn or two. sometimes the game crashes or the laptop restarts, but otherwise i really play the game in one loooong session. :D
