4000 BC
We spend several milliseconds pondering the next thousands of moves, and We decide to Settle in place.
The workers shall road and mine the wine, then irrigate the FP.

The other settler immediately heads to the Incense, settling on the hill north of it -and not along the river.
If you find this an unusual move, you have not understood the depth of our thoughts.

We proceed to irrigate all FPs

Our third city is founded spot on the cow to the north-east.
The following cities will be founded as follows:
- south of the western wheat, in the desert
- on the sugar, west of the Incense
- north of the sugar, between wheat and river
- north-northeast of the two sugars

At this point we begin the Oracle in Samarqand. Our expansion is slowed down, but our glory needs wonders to be built, not meaningless towns.

Our following city will go south of the plains, along the river an more or less between the two horses (and claiming none)

We begin a war with China.

1725 BC
And with Russia

1575 BC
We complete the Oracle.

1300 BC
We are a Monarchy, first civilization in the world to implement a new government.

We conquer Hangchow
Byzantines complete the Colossus and the Pyramids. But who are these faraway peoples?

We are now at war with India too

So far we have always been the first in score, but these "Byzantines" have overtaken us...


We make peace with China, but war breaks out: India and Korea declare on Russia

we have 12 cities and all AA techs but Currency, Literature and Republic



Persia too declares on Russia. The situation for them starts to look quite difficult.
Persia's golden age starts in 900 BC.

Wonder cascade, we complete MoM
We enter the MA together with China and Korea.

Well, I got a late start, thinking that I wouldn't need much time to get overrun. The last diety game I was dead around 2000 BC. This time is different, though, and now I'm concerned about finishing in time.

I took DaveMcW's advice and built pretty much only settlers, workers, and warriors during the AA. I researched pottery first, then the wheel. Then writing, philosophy which I got first and took lit as the free tech, code of laws, and republic, which I finished in 730 BC and traded to get me into the middle ages. Everything else I traded for.

At 1000 BC I had 11 cities and 3 settlers, 10 warriors, 9 workers, and 1 horse. I'd built a granary, a barracks, and three libraries. I had iron, horses, wine, and incense hooked up. This was probably my best showing ever.

I settled a dye city shortly thereafter, but is flipped to India pretty quickly.

Despite my lack of military might, the computer gives me a big power rating, and I enter the MA feeling pretty good. We'll see how DaveMcW's advice plays out during the next part.
