Got off to a SURPRISING fantastic start, Setler 2 (first I built) popped a Settler from Goody Hut. That popped settler then popped another Settler from a Goody Hut!
Start Settler + Built Settler = 4 settlements.
Thought that possibillity had veen eliminated some while back.

Plenty of time of course remqins for me to waste away the advantage!

I thought so as well!

Perhaps we need to let an experienced modder take a look at our .bix/.biq files?!
I have a vague memory about how it was supposed to work: it depends on which unit (settler or worker) is marked as your "starting unit #1". And then you can get either this one or the other one from huts...
(But then I remember other GOTMs/COTMs, where I definitely got a worker from a hut! So something can't be right here?! )

This is the way the games are set up. We have also corrected the number of initial "unit #1" and "unit #2" the AI gets at different levels. We used for a while to have AI with many Workers and few Settlers...

Just achieved a long hard domination victory. It took all summer to conquer the massive amount of land.in this game. Went to Monarchy because of the lack of luxuries in the early game and cheap Enkidu warriors for MP’s. Stayed in Monarchy because I was always at war. Even when Communism became available it didn’t seem to be worth the 4-8 turns of anarchy to switch. IIn most cities, I built almost nothing but military units, barracks, and libraries (for cultural expansion). I built universities in my core 6-8 cities and market places once cities were over size 7 for happiness. I had a small tech lead through the entire game and was able to fund my military by selling techs, resources, and luxuries mainly to the Persians for hundreds of gpt while I was at war on the other continent..
Thank you Piu for setting up a great (but very long) game!

Sorry, but just as Lanzelot said this is strange. You already have a Unit with attack (Enkidu), so you ran into a goody hut an never gain a settler or a worker...

Instead of settlers I got an army from a goody hut when I popped it with an enkidu warrior. Saved it for later, so didn't really help at all for the early game.

Didn't help me with the game, I think the 60% water maps are so much land to settle my early game is too slow. Probably could have used the army a lot earlier for some aggression, too.

Second island civs ended up getting philosophy right before me and after that I never properly caught up. My main settler city was the only city to get hit by disease, too, which slowed the expansion some. Felt like I had terrible luck with galleys too, barely missed getting contact with them for a long time even though I saw the borders. Should have gone for monarchy for unlimited warfare, maybe might have been able to handle the situation.
