COTM57 - Final Spoiler

All - Is there any particular victory condition that scores higher than the others? Would it be better to go with an early Diplo or wait a few more turns (or 60) to win by domination? Or put off a domination to win by cultural? Is there any definite answer on this question?
The initial GOTM's were always won by players playing to 2050 and winning on the last turn by whatever method they wished; they would kill off all AI except one, leaving the last AI with 1 city, be just below Domination limit for land and 'milk' their score for maximum points. You would have to play this type of game to have a chance for a medal; most players find this method of play tedious. The Jason scoring system was created so that earlier victories could be competitively scored against later victories and your Jason score is what determines the medals. However, Jason assumes a certain scoring and growth curve, and a good player can outscore Jason by milking. And even with good milking techniques, for certain maps a really fast conquest will score higher.

DWetzel - How did sacking Rome give you a Golden Age? Because you captured a wonder?

Mounted Warrior finally triggered it. (As an OCC, I didn't actually have horses until I was able to trade for them well into the late middle ages. And I didn't want it at that point.)

Thanks, Steve and DWetzel.

On the ending point, I had been debating ending a recent game with UN or waiting to build up military, capture all the Wonders, and end with domination. I went with Domination, but I don't know what my score would have been with UN. I thought about waiting another 50 years for a cultural win, but that seemed pointless and tedious. Nice to have choices, though! I'd started that game wondering if I could get any VC!
